More "stuff" just to reduce Vivaldi's PRIVACY, SECURITY, SAFETY!
    That's why I LOVE(!) Maiar!

Lol, Maiar may have no problems with WebRTC leaks etc, but it is definitely not secure or safe. Since the old Chromium version they use has been released, 237(!) vulnerabilities have been fixed in Chromium.

I agree with your comment about that old Chrome engine used by Maiar.
But, Maiar t's not only WebRTC leak. Maiar does not leak DNS and/or WebGl.
    It's very simple to operate.
I'm going to try ask Maiar developer/s that question about the very old Chrome engine.

Just a question about the samo-samo nuisance.
Every time I start Vivaldi, I need to go to Settings - Privacy and uncheck that "idiotic", Broadcast IP for Best WebRTC performance".
I totally understand that all those new "sync", etc... features are cool, but how to save my desire to uncheck that, BIpForBestWebRTC P"?

P.S. Today, I've encountered a request to sign in for the Chrome extension web store in order to download some extensions for Vivaldi.

Thanks for the heads up zmechys... I read your post and went to check Vivaldi settings and guess what?
Its happily broadcasting my IP for "best Webrtc performance" after I originally unchecked that option. I unchecked it and rebooted the browser and lo and behold... the option is checked again same as youre experiencing!

I guess Vivaldi gets parked until this is sorted out.

I used Vivaldi for well over a year and maybe 2 years, but I recently uninstalled it. I love the customization options even though it has more than what I need, but I wonder if that may also be it's Achilles heal. Maybe too much for the devs to focus on? I quit bothering with trying to view HD content because of user agent issues with some sites, but I was willing to keep using it as my secondary browser, which I happen to make use of regularly. Then lately I had some performance issues with it locking up. It's always had little glitches or bugs every now and then in my experience in the past that I overlooked and worked around, but the latest issue was too much. After waiting on a couple of updates and it not rectifying the issue I finally got rid of it and started using Brave as my secondary. Vivaldi doesn't have much market share, unfortunately, so I can imagine the dev team being relatively small. I think they need to remove some moving parts so to speak to improve stability and performance. That's my 2 cents anyway.

Under Settings - Privacy - Do not track - I only have the middle one ticked (Block ads on abusive sites)
The Web RTC box is never ticked for me.

    Just a question.
Only with the last Vivaldi update, I need to sign in to my Google account in order to get Chrome extensions.
Is that something new for Vivaldi?

    To be continued...

I've said, OK, let's sign in with Vivaldi, but...

Google told me that my Vivaldi (the latest version) is not good for Gmail.
    LOL.
I can log in with Chrome, with Brave, with Edge, with Firefox, with Maiar, etc., but no with Vivaldi.
    Is it only me?

I've run it for about five years, more or less from the beginning with the beta releases. I ran it on Ubuntu first, then Win 7, and now also run it on macOS. I've never known a version without some bug. I really like it as a browser and tend to use it more than Safari. Although I have a feeling that eventually I will have to replace it on Ubuntu.

Two machines with 73 version on.
Neither has Web RTC ticked in privacy settings.
Both are installed versions not standalone (portable)
Both machines are shutdown at end of the day Screenshot 2020-12-09 130608.jpg
These are the settings I have set.

This is indeed weird, but are you talking about performance or what? On my Win 8.1 desktop and my Win 10 laptop I don't see any difference in Vivaldi's performance.

Great to hear this, so now you can stick with Vivaldi. However, I'm planning to wait at least a couple of weeks before upgrading in the future. Vivaldi 3.5 is working just fine, no need to keep updating, I'm not that worried about possible security issues.

More "interesting" things about Vivaldi on different makes of Windows 10 - OS Build 19042.685.
On the Dell computer, I'm having issues with that "best Webrtc performance" button. It always stays on after restart.
On the ZT computer, that button stays unchecked - no problems.

Plus, on the Dell computer my Web RTC leaks with Vivaldi (I've tried with three different WebRTC extensions),
on the ZT computer, I don't have the Web RTC leak with Vivaldi.

On Dell, I always need to sign in into my VPN extention for Vivaldi, on ZT, it does it automatically.

    Go figure, but...

I cannot log into my Google mail account neither with Dell or ZT while using the Vivaldi browser.

My Vivaldi 3.5.2115.81 is running (kind of) without any issues in terms of PRIVACY, but I cannot log into my Gmail account with Vivaldi.
Am I the only one person having that gmail issue while using Vivaldi?

    @zmechys
I am using same Vivaldi build as you and can open my Gmail.
Have you tried, as a test, setting Vivaldi settings back to default, restarting browser and trying Gmail again?
Have you tried with no addons/extensions?

I have the same Vivaldi set - settings, extensions- on three Win10 computers, just different makes.
I don’t have any problems with Gmail on the HP computer.
I will follow your suggestion and see if it resolves the issue.
    Thank you.

I have figured out my issue.
I don't like Google; therefore, I've unchecked all Google's extensions.
    It annoyed Gmail.
After checking all Google's extensions, I've learned that in order to use gmail, I need to have "Chromecast media-router" on.

Do you have to have a Chromecast dongle for having to enable Chromecast media-router?

I just wanted to know the cause of that gmail exception. It off already.
(For my "official" gmail or yahoo account I use the "government-approved(LOL)" MS Edge.)

Also, my figured out why my WebRTC was leaking while using Vivaldi.
It was the uBlock Origin extension that facilitated my WebRTC leak with Vivaldi; therefore, I've removed it.
    Currently using Privacy Possum.
