where does firefox store 2fa info ? i like to keep windows from accumulating junk files. does anybody know which files or cookies etc to keep 2fa authentication data as with yubikey or other 2fa methods. if i just do a normal cleanup i need to re insert yubikey when asked for apps that support it, such as google facebook and lots of others. i would like to specify what to keep i am aware that re inserting yubikey when asked is easy but over time ports get dirty or damaged

You know why it's called "2FA" -> "two"!?
Firefox only save your credentials for a login, not more.

Wait for an easily recognized time, e.g. 2:00 PM. Insert the yubikey. Finding files in your FF profile folder with time stamps within seconds of that time might offer up some clues. Wait for, say, 2:30 PM, pull the yubikey check again for time stamps within seconds of that time. But Brummelchen is on the right track and I don't think you'll find anything in there.

I often use that timestamp method with Voidtools' Everything.

Nirsoft's File Activity Watch, sorting on your FF profile folder, can be a useful tool in such discoveries as well.
My E8400/G35 box has been in service for 12 years, currently a test system for Win 10 Pro since 2014. I'd say my USB ports, still good, have at least seventy and eleventh gazzilions of inserts and extractions. Where do you live and what are you doing to those poor ports?? :D

If you have a desktop PC, get yourself a 6" cable, keep that plugged in and use that end for all the inserts and extractions.

For mobile devices, a few stout shots of Gumout Carb & Choke Cleaner followed up with a squirt of WD40 will keeps those ports happy. [/KIDDING]

    Cheers.

2FA kinda sucks sometimes. Paypal is ok with barcode generator, but my bank needs own app and thats a bad joke, it do not open sometimes and thus i need to reboot my phone.

i dont know yubikey but i consider thats dialog is coming up from yubikey. Cookies only store the accomplished login.
i hope you speak about firefox itself and not a silly cleaning tool?
