Malwarebytes, the anti-malware app that's ALWAYS in beta. How confidence inspiring

It's a matter of perspective, one could share your negative view and another can think that Malwarebytes staff is always fixing and improving the code of its products.

I respect your opinion. I like updates don't get me wrong what I don't like if the product is ALWAYS in Beta. Beta to me is an untested not fully 100% stable product I would rather these updates are pushed out as final versions and no one would mind if the product keeps updating itself but such an old program being constantly in Beta is just not saw confidence inspiring to me especially when it comes with something that has to do with Security. I am not installing no beta anything related to security on any of my machines. Just my 2 cents.

Not sure I understand. There is always a stable version of MalwareBytes available and it doesn't download beta versions unless you turn that option on. You can also toggle automatic update installation.

    Thanks again, 1PW.

Boy, this update was a PITA. First machine took several attempts before the update would install and was very slow through the process.

The second machine took a few attempts and required TWO system restarts, and then reset itself losing my previous settings. I can't remember having to restart my machine to update MB before, certainly never twice.

No such hassles here Krusty (currently only on one machine), but it did take longer than usual to install.

Thanks Paul. I just ran "SFC /scannow" command and it found and fixed some files. Maybe that was perhaps part of the problem.

Indeed, since the bad guys are at it 24/7, change has to be continuous, whether called beta or whatever!
