uBlock Origin version 1.29.0 is now available in the Chrome Web Store and Opera Store respectively.

Not sure one can post Twitter links here so I'm not gonna. But Mr. Hill updated his status with this information several hours ago.

My Homepage is set to Google.com

When I launch my browser, it will take a few seconds then show me the page wasn't able to load then quickly auto refresh and display the webpage. Only happens with uBlock Origin and not any other adblocker

Anyone experienced this and knows how to fix it?

PS: It only happens with Chrome not Firefox and they both have https://www.google.com/ncr as the homepage

PS 2: I changed the homepage from https://www.google.com/ncr to just https://www.google.com and now this doesn't happen. I kept my default search engine though as the NCR Google to always display search results in English so that works

BTW, is it possible to add a button to the GUI, that will make uBlock switch to the old GUI?

The old popup panel will go away, it's deprecated. Given that I see random bad advices on the web telling people to switch to the old one just to get back the allow rule widget, this motivates me to remove it sooner than later.

    That's a pity.
I don't like the new interface at all...
(and i don't use the old one to get back the allow rule)

To clarify, to me it's mostly about looks, the old one looks more slick. Plus you can quickly access the dashboard without having to think about it, I have to get used to the new position. And I don't even know what you mean with the allow widget. But I guess it's a matter of taste, I hope you will keep giving users an option to switch to the old look.

Allow widget is the green mark you have in the image. Speaking of which, why do you have an allow rule for Wilders?

because he dont know? "noop" is enough.

thats exactly the problem/issue gorhill addresses with upcoming changes.

for me i like to retain the old design, not only because its smaller - ok for my android and fingers but not on desktop with mouse.

I don't get it, isn't this basic functionality to block and allow stuff? Also, is it true that with the new uBlock design, you can't allow stuff anymore? So instead of the green marks, you now only see grey marks? And what does this even mean?

And to answer your question, I think WSF didn't work correctly, so I made the allow rule. Another comment, if you remove uBlock, is it possible for it to auto-save current settings? I have just lost my current settings, I did make a back up a while back.

The way to properly allow is by "Noop". Improper use/misuse of the "Allow" rule is the reason @gorhill removed it, at least from the GUI. It will be removed entirely at some point.

The ads highlighted with the horrible red arrow in the Malwarebytes forum is blocked by EasyList:

Do you know other lists with fewer rules than EasyList that block the ads?
Or a definitive rule to block the ads?

I have no idea what that that Noop stuff is all about. I just know that sometimes certain scripts are marked in orange, so I often allow them when I see certain problems on sites. But apparently Gorhill now thinks this isn't needed? Like I said, on this forum I was having problems posting, so I allowed it, and the problem was gone.

noop excludes network requests from being subjected to dynamic filtering -
noop cancels dynamic filtering, but noop does not cancel static filtering -

Thanks, but all of this is "mumbo jumbo" to me, as long as I understand the basics and I can make uBlock do what I want, then it's cool.
