Greetings/Salutations, Could you provide a link for the latest download of wiseVector StopX to install on one PC's?
@WiseVector Appreciate the link ! And Thank you very much for the download..... How is against adware for cleaning and removal? And what about spyware? Kind regards, Moose
My pleasure! WiseVector StopX can detect both adware for cleaning & removal and spyware, but we are specialized in advanced threats remediation.
Really! It sounds to good so i must ask if that really is a fact. Will ALL the existing features still be free when you officially release this product?
I look forward to being able to pay for a subscription for this excellent security app. However, PLEASE don't turn it into another bloated monstrosity that does silly things like cleaning the registry or including a firewall or adding signature-based scans.
What some consider bloat might not be for others. Cleaner features are considered bloat due to the fact that great majority of users don't view it as necessary for any "security" software Firewalls, however, are much more divisive. Since there those with the mentality that firewalls or just outbound connection controls are essential for proper internet security. And then there's those that believe they are unnecessary
In my case, it's the fact that there are already a number of excellent firewalls in existence. Some are stand-alone, such as Evorim & TinyWall. Others are front-ends for the Windows integral firewall. I am presently using a FW that is superb in every respect so why seek another from WV? IOW -- Why buy a cow when milk is so cheap? Mooo!
We plan to do this so far, but since our users' needs are changing, we might change our plan. We must admit we don't know what features users are willing to pay
Yep. As a result of Cruelsister's comments, I've downloaded and am using WiseVector with Comodo Firewall (her settings). Light, smooth and solid protection.
I think many would be willing to pay already because of the AI feature, and the good results in tests. Which are the other features you are considering to implement in the "live" version?
Thanks for the test, so I assume you was content with the outcome? OK thanks, because I know that quite a few companies use the term "AI" nowadays, and people have become skeptical. For example, Cylance protection was bypassed quite easily a year ago, of course they did fix this hole. But normally speaking I would rather have WV block certain techniques that are mostly used by malware all of the time. Not a lot of legit software use APC injection and process hollowing, know what I mean?
Sorry, I just saw your request -they were flagged by: Behaviour Detection: BioniX Wallpaper Setup.exe Static scanning: Classic Start Skins\AeroFlat FullGlass revB (Open Shell Start) Classic Start Skins\AeroFlat (Open Shell Start)
Thank You @WiseVector for that note of confidence and expectation as development moves forward with it.
We always try our best not to make WiseVector StopX becoming bloated, but actually it's very difficult to keep this for us. Because on the one hand, according to the threats we encounter, we must add some new features to get WVSX improved. On the other hand, we know that users need time to know and then ensure a fresh security software can be trusted, so many users run WVSX alongside other AV now, that's why users hope WVSX is as light as possible to reduce resource usage, and be compatible with other security software, and do not have the same existing features as others. Actually we do want to add network protection to WVSX. A typical example is CCleaner Supply Chain Attack. In this example, we see that file-based detection is difficult to prevent users from this attack, since the malware is delivered as part of official updates. Behavioral detection is also difficult to stop this attack, accessing sensitive folders is a normal behavior for cleaner software. In this case, it is better to detect the attack by Network Behavior. Honestly, we don’t think most firewalls on the market can combat the increasingly more complex attacks. Someone might think that ordinary users are unlikely to experience advanced attacks. However, we don't agree with that. For example, we have designed a detection module to track the behavior of remote threads. Of course WVSX will detect malware at Pre-injection stage. However it is difficult to block kernel-mode injection. We designed the module to judge whether the injected threads will access sensitive folders. As a result, for a half year, we have observed dozens of events that the injected threads in "explorer.exe" or "svchost.exe" will read the passwords stored in the browser. This kind of attack is quite rare, and we have not observed it before. We designed this module just for a test, and it turns out that advanced attacks are not far away from ordinary users. We have also been thinking about how to create unique features that users really need. We don’t want to just repeat what other security companies have done. We know threats that users don’t know, and our users use more security software than we do, allowing us to take a new look at what features we need to add. So we are very happy to be able to communicate with users in the forum, which can help us to create some unique and valuable features.
Hi, These techniques you mentioned are utilized by cracked software and portable software as well, so WiseVector StopX can't block all of them. In the future, we would like to add some advanced features being customized by experienced users, then they can know what's going on with their system.
