In this new software update I see a much extended anti virus anti malware app included. I wonder how good it is and if I should use it. At the moment I am using the latest WD on Windows 10 Home. Not sure if switching the Acronis AV disables WD as some other third party AVs do. Wish I knew much more about all this.
Having tested True Image 2021 during the beta it does insert itself as the dominant AV over Windows Defender with no choice. There was no option to remove it except for uninstalling it. I'm running True Image 2021 Standard which does not automatically install the AV portion but has it is available as 3 moth trial within the app. I use Malwarebytes Premium which has an option to not register it with the Windows security center. I don't know how the release versions with the AV are configured. I haven't seen any reports in the Acronis forums.
I used to like Acronis. Stuff like this is why I'll never return to it. Every year they add something else I don't want.
