    Thanks, TH.
For that reason, I shall disable WRSA's FW & go with a stand-alone FW.

    @bellgamin
You don't need to disable WRSA firewall, you can set it to "allow all processes to connect to the internet unless explicitly blocked".
Another setting I find interesting is "heuristics". If you set it to "warn when any new program executes that is not specifically whitelisted", WRSA acts like an anti-exe, preventing execution of files unknown to WR servers

@imuade -- Great suggestions!!! I shall give the heuristics "warn when... etc"==>~anti-exe a spin. However, I still prefer to have only 1 FW running. By the way, I'm now running WiseVector AI /AV alongside WRSA. Hmmmm..........

@imuade -- I have both the Windows FW & the WRSA FW disabled. I use Simplewall. It enables me to write custom rules to fit my computer's set-up and my exact security needs.

I have been running WSA for a few years now and really like that I hardly notice it's even there doing its job (and I have never had a security breach)! The only problem that I have had is that it never updates automatically, even though it is set to do so, as can be seen in my Settings snip. And whenever I attempt to update manually it informs me that I am running the latest version (but that's not true!), as can be seen in my Version snip.

This really frustrates me. What more can I do to get WSA to update automatically?

Thank you TH but even so, in the past it has never updated automatically. I would wait a few weeks after a new release for it to update, but it never has. My only recourse has been to uninstall my old version and install the new one!

Yes for some and like I said they stopped rolling out v9.0.28.153 for whatever reason. Here is the link to download and it's still at v9.0.28.48 https://anywhere.webrootcloudav.com/zerol/wsainstall.exe

I'm Beta testing v9.0.29.51 at this time and there are some bugs.

Didn't Webroot stopped updating every single user at the same time in order to prevent issues like they had in the past?

That may very well be, but I have waited nearly a month after new releases and never got updated automatically!

Well not because of issues but it does say! "Webroot now does a gradual rollout method for releases. As such, not everyone will receive the update at the same time."

I'm not saying that but if one wants the latest release ASAP then use the download link and install it and do a reboot! https://anywhere.webrootcloudav.com/zerol/wsainstall.exe

I understand, but afaik you need to first uninstall WSA before you can install a new version; isn't that correct?

No you can install over top and do a reboot to set the new Driver! But you have the latest release at this time but keep the link for future releases if you want them right away!

All the same, a month does seem a long time to wait for an update. Why not get Support to check your installation out?

@Triple Helix , I am having problems removing Webroot from a Windows 7 computer. Uninstall made a real mess of the computer but I got into "Safe Mode" Administrator account and was able to remove most of the left over Webroot files and registry entries. I still have problems with four registry entries that pertain to "Legacy_WRCore". Even though I am logged into Admin account in safe mode, I am getting "Access denied" when trying to delete the entries that are linked to Webroot file locations. The files are removed and I am just down to four stubborn registry entries that are left. I have tried changing and/or adding permissions to change these lines but that gets denied also. It's being a real bugger. Can you offer any insight or recommend anything that would help remove the Webroot registry entries? I would be grateful for any help you can supply. Thanks.

Sorry no I can't but you can contact Webroot Support if you want: Webroot Customer Service

Note: When submitting a Support Ticket, Please wait for a response from Support. Putting in another Support Ticket on this problem before Support responses will put your first Support Ticket at the end of the queue, it should be 24 to 48 hours but could take a little longer because of COVID 19.
