He registered here on Friday, but doesn't have sufficient privileges to reply to this thread yet.

Ah, okay. Not sure what he has to do to get those privileges, but am looking forward to his input.

I would think it would be a good thing--to correct some mis-information and try to tone down the paranoia. I'd rather hear about the progress quite frankly.

Apparently he hasn't clicked on the activation email yet that was sent to him.

I don't know what the GUI should look like. But, it might [just] be a peculiarity, as you say.

Yes, I can see that in the settings, but I can only select individual files. I want to exclude my whole 'Documents Folder'. I know that whatever I have in that folder, I don't need/want it scanned.

Not sure what that is all about, but I think I don't want that. I will investigate further.

See my point mentioned above in wanting to exclude whole folders rather than individual files. That would speed up scanning on my system

Yes, they are exes for this . So, I have reported them, as FP's.

And "that my dear boys/ladies" are what we await. as @stapp so kindly friendly already shared, is what we curiously wait for. After they accept their activation email link and enters this topic thread, should bring us to speed on any little unknowns needed addressed.

Kinda looking forward to how it handles my zoo specimens. And they be a plenty. Of course without the CFW as a compliment or vice versa. Just hope the FULL scanning velocity scans of WiseVector StopX might be not as slow as some have eluded to. Quick Scan appears to do just fine.

So we're waiting for an answer on that.

Easter- When you play with this, if you happen to have some unusual totally legitimate applications to run it would be a helpful FP test. I tried it with a few and all seemed well, but one never knows, do one?

    Thanks,
    Meghan

"Quick Scan appears to do just fine." That is what I selected for my first scan, but it was slow as molasses.

Thanks for the useful tip @cruelsister.

How very true it is, that. And FP's are a normal occurrence given the magnitude of such search n removes types of security apps at one point or another.

About scan speed of WV in general, dev has stated several times at MWT that 1st time will be slow, subsequent scans will be faster...

It probably creates a database of know files or something similar like many other security products.

    Hi,

Thanks a lot for your test.:)
Yes, WiseVector StopX polls a server in Hangzhou for updates, but the server in Singapore is used for updates as well. We don't make statistics when users uninstall WV, since there is no need to do so. I guess WV was updating when you uninstalled, so it seemed that WV connected out to a server in Singapore on uninstall...a mere coincidence. :p

    Good day!

When i bring the computer out of sleep, WiseVector has high CPU for 15 seconds and really slows the computer down.

    Hi,

Is your SSD pluggable? If it's plugged in your PC when installing WiseVector StopX, ransomware bait files will be created on the SSD and if it's plugged out from your PC before uninstalling WV, ransomware bait files ( turn to be useless) will be kept on the SSD, but don't worry, you can delete all of them manually and thoroughly. We are not interested in users personal data.:)

    Regards,
    WiseVector

    Hi,

Can you please try to turn off the "Memory Inspection" ( in advanced detection settings)? Since the Memory Inspection was working when the computer out of sleep, the CPU usage might be high.

    Regards,

If i turn Memory inspection off, i will have reduced protection, so i will keep it on.

I don't see any scan log. The tray Icon should change when i have unchecked protection so i don't forget about it.

Perhaps you should select "Custom Scan" on the bottom right side of WV's GUI. Doing that will enable you to select exactly those folders that you DO want scanned.
