dnsleaktest is affiliated with ivpn and ipleak.net is affiliated with air.
other alternatives are browserleaks.com and whoer.net

@imdb - all devices say 'Router VPN' in green font & connected, exception is Vonnage VOIP device, says "No VPN". That's by design to get phone to work on voip. What to check at router besides what is said?

Hi guys my own crude test, & definitely not to cheat:

express vpn router connected: bleach bit chrome cookies/cache > vpn connected > visit wapo.c o m read article > close browser > open & wapo. c o m > I was hit with pay wall & could not read.

Wouldn't they have to obtained my IP, in order, to PayWall me? FYI I pay for NYT & wapo just a test, of expressvpn routered vpn.

    Thanks

so you did the tests while connected to express' dallas server. i don't see a problem here. try the tests while connected to an overseas server.

i don't get it. you visit the same site with the same ip and just because you're behind vpn, you expect them to not recognize you? :cautious:

    Thanks for asking :)

It's been hard, the last few months. A very close friend died ~recently, of malignant cancer, just a few months after diagnosis :( And it was a horror for all involved. However, many close friends were there for us, and now for me. Which is all very sweet :)

    So yeah, I'm OK, considering.

@imdb response to post #39. Perhaps I'm not quite understanding the concept here. I thought my IP address would be invisible, to all while VPN is active. And my crude test, I believed IP was not hiddnen from wapo, hence paywall

    are you serious? o_O
man, apparently you don't know what an ip address is and what it does. you must have an ip address in order to be able to be connected to other computers and devices on the www. you cannot be invisible. vpn's don't make you invisible or untraceable. they just assign your devices a new ip address that's not registered with your isp.
when you're connected to the vpn, the washington post sees the ip assigned to you by expressvpn. that's all.
so, in your case, expressvn works as it should. you're not leaking.

It's all OK. Your IP address was 193.56.117.197 with DNS servers 193.56.117.195, 193.56.117.196 and 193.56.117.197.

Adding to IMDb's replies, your ISP-assigned IP address is invisible, to all except ExpressVPN.
