My next target will probably be "Spam404"
    See my previous post.

I'll wait a while longer to see if maintenance will continue...

I have now added phishing army blocklist extended as my only uBO Custom list in Firefox, alongside uBO medium mode defaults (does not include 'Spam404', and old malware lists now removed). :thumb:

I checked some random domains from Spam404, and these were indeed malicious and still online.
So I'll keep it for now.

Just in case it disappears from the internet in the near future, I put a copy in my online storage, so I can use that link to add to my custom filters. :shifty:

Instead, I consider the list useless.
    The links are generally unusable.
The only link working I found, is also blocked from the 1Hosts Mini list.:thumb::)
Which I remember, as a multipurpose list, also has phishing features.
Other links are also blocked by the DNS filters.

@imdb Why do you think that is not correct to use optimized list with format Adblock Plus ( || ..) in uBO ?!
It is the same format as the built-in ...

Yes, I'd disabled Spam404 along with the other 2 Malware domain lists when I installed the 1Hosts(mini) almost couple of weeks ago. :thumb: I expect a little redundancy but not too much. I do have the new Online Malicious URL Blocklist with 5785 of 5809 entries active, that's pretty reasonable. Really liking my setup at the moment but open to disabling that online Malware list if the 1Hosts has that area covered also. What do you think?.

because they're just lists optimized for mobile devices (specifically for safari and ios).
    also see this github page.

I see some people here like using the 1Hosts Mini list.
It's an enormous one, that's compiled from different sources, but I can't find out which ones. :cautious:
    A big no-no IMHO.

So I wouldn't use it, also because I think most bad stuff is already blocked by uBO's built in lists (and by uMatrix in my case).

    Just use both. :)

    PS,
I see in your signature that you use both AdBlock Chrome and uBlock Origin.
It is not recommended to use more than one ad blocker at the same time!
Just uninstall AdBlock Chrome; you will be fine with uBlock Origin alone.

Well, you could install the development version, if you dare...
I've been using it for a long time now and never encountered any problems.
    It gets frequent automatic updates.

From the start, I kept disabled the native ad-blocker in Vivaldi, relying on uBlock Origin alone. The snip shows three choices, you can only enable one of course. The third choice seems competent but didn't block everything like my configuration of uBO did in the limited context I tried it. Still, it's a nice and needed feature. I just wouldn't enable both concurrently, though.

I know, guilty as charged. On my test machine I do run uBlock Origin alongside AdGuard for Windows (just because I do have lifetime licenses ... and I like to play).
I had discussed this on AG forum long ago: https://forum.adguard.com/index.php?threads/using-ublocko-with-adguard.8416/

Of course it is overkill :D; but I haven't ever really experienced issues - I guess AG 'intervenes' before uBO ...

(I also see now there is also this old thread here: https://forum.adguard.com/index.php?threads/adguard-vs-ublock-origin.13941/
which mentions adding this script in uBO: @@||local.adguard.com/$third-party,script)

    Ducks for cover. :isay:

I don't use AdGuard, but as I understand from these threads, they also don't recommend simultaneous use.
Of course they say AdGuard alone is even better than uBlock Origin... :shifty:

I'll stick with uBO+uMatrix. Costs nothing and does the job very well... :)
I also have LocalCDN, which features prepared rules for uBlock/uMatrix and notifications if rule changes are necessary.

Sorry--I wasn't completely sure what this means....I would use native Firefox stuff over native Vivaldi's if it came down to those choices-one still has to import Frogeye's list into chromium browsers. Does anyone know offhand what Vivaldi's native ad-blocker consists of? Not a major deal as my uBO config. is quite competent

Otherwise, I'll take a look thru its forum and see. :)
