NetBIOS block inbound: leave the "Rule (Remote)" field empty or write * or any or Any or does not matter? Or write your local IP assigned by the router, for example, 192.168.0.12 (bad option)?
"Enable for all apps" or "Enable for selected apps" (System)?
Firefox allow outbound: what do we write in the "Rule (Local)" field?
Do you see other errors in these rules?

I think I already found the answers to my questions.

I disable vodooshield related filters: vodooshield service and vodoshield.exe (they're allowed to perform outbound connections), yes WF is disabled by simplewall

vodooshield can verify signature but not scan with the virus total engine and AI, it can't update as well
@henrypp can u verify what's going on with vodooshield ofc if you find time
btw the version 3.1.2 works fine for me and solve some issues I was having with other software

Disable ALL filters , not only vodooshields related filters and try again. If it is working , you need to search deeper for an app used by vodooshield to connect to the internet.

    Better explanation:

Some Apps use "svghost.exe" and a service to connect to the internet. Unless you are able to identify which service is involved, you cannot block or allow that communication.

Leaving svchost. exe wide open (TCP 80; 443 OUT) is a solution but that defies the purpose of a firewall.

    Exactly!
Q: what is the function of "APPLY SIMPLEWALL FOR THIS APP" in "Rules"?

Just installed it yesterday, on my x64 (AMD Jaguar quad core AM1) under Windows 10 Pro 10568 , along Tinywall 3.0.4 (a tinywall version that works fine on this W10 version).
    Windows Firewall is off.
It s a nice firewall and it behaves well along Tinywall, app-s allowed requiring double rules practically.
TinyWall taking precedence, based on what i ve seen in the SimpleWall log.

In the App s section, placing a check mark before the custom allowed app, gives full connectivity for it, even if custom rules are made and in place. So careful with the checkbox, if you want only specific ports allowed.
The user rules are made via presets, like in Comodo or Jetico, very easy to work with.More than UDP and TCP protocols are available , when making rules,.IPv6 is supported.
Firewall will ask the user if apps want to connect, the dialog is smart, you wont be spammed with questions, like in the Evorim firewall, for exemple.

I would say it needs the ability to add or modify system rules, the ability to add your own ip-s to the block list and password protection for the full configuration.
Logging feature works, could be better looking.

    A nice app that works.

You're using both TinyWall and SimpleWall at the moment? I think you should use only one.

    @SeriousHoax

You could compare the situation - of using (this) 2 firewalls-, to the usage of 2 locks on a door (instead of using only one). You can open the door after you unlock the 2 of them, but if the key for one of the locks is missing, the door stays closed.
As long as they work together and complete each other i see no issue here.
Could very well enable the 3-rd lock, the windows firewall. :)

Having 2 firewalls is an extremely bad idea.
Having 3, is waiting for a disaster.

You are most probable confusing Windows 10 with Windows XP..
Windows Filtering Platform is the key here.
You should test this specific combo (simplewall+Tinywall) and talk after.

I did not confuse anything .

Show me a reputable link with the recommendation to use 2 software firewalls at the same time.

    You re going off-topic here.
I have no links or recommendations for you, sorry for that, you are the one taking decisions regarding your PC security, no matter the recommendations anyway (reputable or not).I don t care about recommendations myself. I do tests on my own though, with various configurations or comboes.I believe only what i can see and touch.

And I tell you again that simplewall and tinywall complete each other perfectly, (already) on 2 W10 machines, no conflicts whatsoever.

Sharing my experience here was made with good intentions. Some people could get the grip on simplewall using this combo, learning how to use it, with no fears.

Simplewall has a few strong points and among them is a true loging feature.

If anyone has questions regarding the usage of this firewall I can share my knowledge. It s a great free firewall.

Ignoring collective experience ("I don t care about recommendations myself") is not a strong quality....

Testing yourself is fine; however you can test only what you can see: if an app cannot connect to the the internet and because of running 2 firewall you do not get any warning , well, you will never be able to know and you will continue to believe that "everything works well"

Testing yourself has some limits: I do not need to jump from a tall building with an umbrella to "test myself" .Is more advisable to follow the advice of people who already tested.

Making a back-up of your OS partition before installing some software, to test, is not rocket science, and you don t need to jump from a building to find that.
A proper router, to compare the logs, is needed of course, while testing.Using tools from the router, or a second machine, to test the inbound protection features it-s easy as well.
This firewall is perfectly fine.I ve seen no leaks.
The rules are easy to make (but care to the details is needed), the blocklist works as well.It allows the user to customize the protocol used with more granularity or the IP version.Using it along Tinywall needs double rules, one in each, of course, for the apps to work.
    Excellent firewall.

PS:If the developers of Tinywall, Simplewall and Fort Firewall could team up, you would have a great/fantastic little piece of software for Windows 10 users :)

Are you suggesting that is OK to run concurrently, on the same PC, several firewalls based on WFP o_O?

I've provided you a reputable link, which describes WFP's architecture for running several firewalls concurrently at the same time.
I personally not suggesting it, because you should carefully setup firewalls.

None of these firewalls offer an additional layer of protection to your PC. Apart from their 'fanciness" , the firewalls you mentioned are not capable of :

    • filter based on service ; so in order to update Windows, for example , you need to allow svchost TCP out , port 80 and 443, without the possibility of specifying a service. So any app. using svchost can communicate over the internet without a blink from your firewall
    • using wildcards: many applications will change their name after updates , forcing you to create rules over and over again
    • rules based on FQDN ; many applications will use dynamic addressing, so specifying an IP or IP range is impossible; only using rules based on FQDN will solve this issue
    • not able to detect when a parent app is using a child app to access the internet; an "allowed" app (child) can be used by another app (parent) to access to internet. The firewall will not detect the parent app because is using the child app.

I tried most of the firewalls on the market today; as you said, they are like a lock on the door , which will restrict legit applications to connect to the internet. Malicious one will be able to bypass any commercial firewall on the market today (maybe not COMODO)

The last practical, user friendly firewall , doing all items mentioned above was PC Tools Firewall Plus.

If you need more anti-leak protection add additional layers, like VoodooShiled or OS Armor, along .Update the OS manually, if you have the fear that svchost.exe could change it s personality.

I consider that the 'fanciness" of this ones, and keep in mind they are FREE - NO adware or such, is quite useful. They also allow for much more control than the default one. They seem to be better than the windows default firewall (that has a mind of it s own).

Like I ve told you Windows 10 has changed the industry, Outpost and Agnitum are no more for example, while many users have stopped looking for firewalls that ask a lot and go for some antivirus suites.

Keep in mind that these developers use part of their lives, it s their time, to deliver TRUE FREE software and i think we should appreciate and help them more.

I DO keep in mind that, however as a consumer, I am looking for a product , free or paid, to satisfy my needs, .

I will not use a product only from "solidarity" with the developer.

And I donated for both Tinywall and Windows Firewall control.
