It's very simple, when I click on something, I want to see the coloured background without any ugly dotted lines. In the screenshots, you can see the selection in the color purple and black, no ugly dotted lines are necessary. :thumb:

Can someone tells me how to remove SB portable properly?

I'm having the portable version. It's not installed so cannot be removed via an installer nor from Windows. There's no uninstaller inside the SB folder too

Each time I tried removing the SB folder a mesage pops up and says

"The action can't be completed because the the folder or a file is open in another program."

I ended the SB Control and SbieSvc.exe tasks in Task Manger but still cannot remove the SB folder with the above message popping up

End up I Forced Uninstall with Revo Uninstaller Pro.

    @DavidXanatos

In future can please add an uninstaller file in the portable version? I await your new version to try again.

    Thanks

Portable versions by definition do not install files, libraries... in the operating system so can not have uninstaller. Simply boot your pc in safe mode and delete the folder.

Actually, after I forced uninstall SB I went to github and found the following in the below link

"Just keep in mind that in fully portable mode sandman on close will stop and remove the driver + service, than it wont work."

    https://github.com/sandboxie-plus/Sandboxie/issues/62

In that case then I should be able to delete the SB folder, right?

Sandboxie needs a driver and a service, when ran in fully portable mode it will install them on start and uninstall them on close.
If that fails you can remove the service and driver from the Sandbox->Maintenance->Advanced->... menu options.
First Sandbox->Maintenance->Stop All that stops them and disconnects.
than Sandbox->Maintenance->Advanced-> uninstall service and uninstall driver

that should not be necessary but i added those functionality for cases like this if the auto handling fails.

Just two basic questions/assumptions to the download possibilities here: https://github.com/sandboxie-plus/Sandboxie/releases/tag/v0.2.2

    A)
    - I need in any case the SbiePlus.zip (at the moment v.0.2.2) to use Sandboxie Plus. (Then it runs in the portable mode.)
    - I need (additionally) the SandboxieInstall.exe (at the moment v.5.41.2) only if I want to install Sandboxie Plus on my system.

    B)
    - The number 0.2.2 (or lower/higher) refers to the version of Sandboxie Plus itself.
    - The number 5.41.2 (or lower/higher) refers to the version of the driver which is used in Sandboxie Plus.

    Is this correct?

Yes, I can name plenty of other apps that do not show the dotted lines, think of Windows Explorer and AutoRuns. BTW, these screenshots were taken from EXE Radar and Windows Firewall Control.

The latest version of ESET (13.1.21.0), with the latest database, does not allow Sandboxie 64bit v5.41.2.exe (https://github.com/sandboxie-plus/Sandboxie/releases) to run after installation.

    2020-06-28_110025.jpg

    ESET log entry:

    Idő;Víruskereső;Objektumtípus;Objektum;Észlelés;Művelet;Felhasználó;Információk;Hash;Első észlelés időpontja
    2020. 06. 28. 10:59:51;Valós idejű fájlrendszervédelem;fájl;C:\Program Files\Sandboxie\SbieDrv.sys;módosult Win32/Agent.ABZW.gen trójai;törléssel megtisztítva ESKTOP-J0VB0BC\Asrock;A riasztást a következő alkalmazás váltotta ki, új fájl létrehozásakor: C:\Users\Asrock\AppData\Local\Temp\nsp5725.tmp\KmdUtil.exe (CD12502D8E48DB5E91DB7D6644DE5B029303C75D).;99037394C3B0881368D4B27DF4124F11B5CA8C27;2020. 06. 28. 10:53:52

I reported it to ESET as false alarm.

    Hamis riasztásként jelentettem az ESET-nek.

its a false positive due to the used leaked certificate.
    just add a custom exception.

    Yes, I did.

Can this be changed in the future? Not a good advertisement for the program.

David has already explained the situation in the old Sandboxie thread.

I quote the beginning of his statement:

You dont have to do nothing to get that, thats what you get with Sandboxie by default. :)

I would like to suggest a new feature. The settings should indicate which setting I changed compared to the default setting. This can help you fix something problem later.

    FEATURE REQUEST

Can you please make Sandboxie Plus work with Yubikey ? Right now both Chrome and Firefox supports Yubikey, but fails in Sandboxie. Protesters in Hong Kong are relying on that for secrecy with their Gmail, Outlook etc.

Google has their Advanced Security Program which works with Yubikey as their second factor hardware token authentication method. The program was made for journalists, dissidents etc to protect their security and privacy. Anybody can join. I use it to protect my business email and business documents ( which I edit with Google Docs )

A Yubikey costs $20 for the USB A version. Cheap enough and very good security. The NFC capable version at $27, works with Chrome on your cellphone.

Please enable Firefox and Chrome's Yubikey feature in Sandboxie Plus !
