I agree. And I don't understand why this littleness would be a reason to switch to another browser (particularly if this behavior can be easily changed). As if there are no other much more important aspects why one would choose a specific browser.

I find the 'fat bar' quite irritating as it impinges into the bookmark bar. I'm disabled and have to operate any computer with only my left hand. Theses GUI changes are unnecessary, aesthetically unappealing and I don't need it. I've used Firefox since 2008 but Mozilla seem determined to make Firefox difficult to use with pointless GUI changes. I only keep it as I can download YouTube videos with it. Admittedly the problem can be rectified at the moment, but I shouldn't have to keep using about:config to modify the browser back to normality every time it upgrades.

I use youtube-dl. I think someone has a GUI for it.

Thanks. I might investigate further. Firefox is the default browser in Ubuntu. I will probably keep it on Ubuntu, but Vivaldi is now my default. I rarely use Firefox on Mac now.

Change is inevitable, not always, welcome or perceived as an improvement. Remember reaction after FF 7(?), web extensions, etc. ...

In the end Mozilla will need to show value to grow market share.

And there will always be diehards (like me! :D).

There's change, and there's pointless change. There's nothing inevitable about pointless change. It's just pointless.

I would agree in this case. Though I think it's probably to accommodate touch screens.

There's no rationale to the Mozilla changes. I expect it from Google, but Mozilla doing this is weird. When Vivaldi make changes, they usually make sense, even if they don't work properly for everyone. Mozilla seem to have been hit upside the head by the stupid stick so much it's effected permanent brain damage.

It's very possible, but it makes no real sense on a desktop environment.

Firefox dont have a sandbox, its windows sandbox with "integrity level", firefox only has switch to set the level (default = 6)
    https://wiki.mozilla.org/Security/Sandbox
    Code:
    security.sandbox.content.level;6

I'm not sure what you're talking about, because this is exactly what is called a sandbox? So normally speaking you will need at least two exploits in order to run malware via the browser. You need remote code execution + a sandbox bypass. So please explain who you believe that Firefox doesn't have a sandbox?
