Capture.PNG As I said version Windows 10 version 2004 does not seem to have any significant issue so far, but when I try to clean up Windows update from backup files with the Disk cleanup tool (admin mode) it just does not work, even after a suggested reboot. Those files, about 1.75 GB seem to cling forever, maybe because 2004 hasn't been released yet... Anybody experiencing this behaviour? Also in 'Downloaded programs files' it should show about 110 MB of files and it shows 0 bytes...

    Osaban,

    Disk Cleanup worked for me.

I know you have a backup image so try this from an Admin command prompt. See if it gets rid of those 1.75 GB of files.

    Code:
    Dism.exe /online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup /ResetBase
Write down your used and free space before running DISM.

Try this, go to PC Settings > System > Storage > Run storage sense.

You will find an option to cleanup Windows updates there.

If that doesn't work, try stopping the Windows Update Service

    Where exactly? :doubt:

I never see that option to cleanup Windows updates ... Win 10 Pro.

Only Configure Storage Sense or run it now>Free up space now>Clean now.

I do it though - but via right click drive>Properties>General>Disk Cleanup.

Yeah something like that, I can't tell you exactly where because I'm using Windows 10 LTSC (the best Windows 10 version) and it's build 1809 so it doesn't have the same wording.

Brian, it didn't work, I informed MS, but I think I will go back to the canonical win 10 for the time being, always thankful for your help...

I know Storage sense, and even though it is more granular than Disk cleanup, it didn't help. I might as well wait for the normal MS roll out and see if the issue reappears. Strange it is happening to me and not to you and Brian...

BTW, a friend of mine gifted me a Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC key so I formatted and installed Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC, the latest build for the is 1809 and I can disable Telemetry in that from the Group Policy Editor. With every new build Windows 10 is just getting worse, this build is much snappier.

After trying Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC, I will NOT use any other Windows 10 edition! This is the only edition which enthusiasts and power users should use. It has no cortana or Microsoft Edge or any built in Windows Store apps, the way Windows should be!

I appreciate your attitude, but part of the fun is to try out new versions of Windows, and to be at the forefront of innovation, having a reliable imaging program allows me to take some risks without being sorry.

Not just the bandwidth on a single machine. I noticed when upgrading one of my Win10 machines that my other machines on the network had extremely slow connection speed while the upgrade was downloading.

Yes, that's expected if your machines are on the same network. If download consumes most of your bandwidth all other network traffic will experience slowdown.
