I keep unselecting it, as I don't have a clue what it saves, and I want to keep my options open. And I wish it wasn't always selected by default.
I've checked it out and it's useful. It saves your makedisk menu selections. I'll leave it ticked so it saves the selections every time, just in case I alter a selection.
FWIW it does the same with BootIt UEFI makedisk.exe. I leave it ticked now, as it saves my settings ('Align partitions on 1 MiB boundaries'), and my license information each time I makedisk to update. Previously I would have to reselect, and cut-and-paste these details.
Hi, I have created a separate partition D: by shrinking C: The recovery partition is at the end of the disk. My disk layout is in the image. I want to backup all partitions except D: If I restore all other partitions will D: partition contents remain unaffected? Any special steps needed? Thanks.
No problems for D: drive. But, BitLocker presents a problem for all imaging software. Do you really need it? https://www.terabyteunlimited.com/kb/article.php?id=616
@Brian K Thanks I need bitlocker and you provided me guidance on how to use it with Image for windows. I have taken backup of drive C: and other system partitions except drive D: I have used drive D: as destination for backup. I took this backup after booting in to windows. I will unlock the drives before doing offline restore. I hope it works and I will copy this backup to portable disk too
Should winre.wim located at: C:\Program Files (x86)\TeraByte Drive Image Backup and Restore Suite\tbwinre\WinRE_Backup Be refreshed at some time? What does the backup do?
I don't have any notifications when I backup with v3.39. There is nothing in the Windows 10 list, and I cannot see any IFW settings to re-enable notifications.
Hadron, it will be updated when you install the next Win10 version. The most recent winre.wim is Oct 2019.
I might visit their forum. Edit: I worked it out. TBI Notify was running in Task Manager, but not displaying in the tray. I ended the task and re-started TBI Notify. It's is now displaying in the tray, and Notifications are working.
Thanks, Brian. Is there a way to see the exact version? My file was last modified on May 28, 2019. CRC32: 35F904FF MD5: 22C7AC5E9E8EC6DB0213D06BC40A3A48 SHA-1: F5883870C7605E6FBAEE4FA8E74F0DA65901EB9B I have a different winre.wim in: C:\Recovery\WindowsRE
OK. Try this from an Admin Command prompt. Can you post the result. Code: reagentc /info One of my computers shows... Now do this from the Admin Command prompt... Code: diskpart list disk select disk x (x is the disk containing Win10) list par What is the Partition number of your Win10 partition?
The only one I have in a Windows folder is at: C:\Recovery\WindowsRE It has a last modified date of: October 18, 2013. 261 MB But IFW has a different one at: C:\Program Files (x86)\TeraByte Drive Image Backup and Restore Suite\tbwinre\WinRE_Backup It was last modified on May 28, 2019. 415 MB

Thanks. Your "Active" winre.wim is in the Recovery partition so wimre.wim in C:\Recovery\WindowsRE is not being used (it could be deleted without an issue). Can you look in the Recovery partition and check the date on winre.wim?
