Version 12 is a bit annoying. Apart from a slow startup, it won't open maximized even if you select Maximized in the shortcut.
It also has the annoying Quit The Program | Yes/No? when you want to close it.

If you buy the version with data recovery, it has also become considerably more expensive $ 99> $ 129

For anyone who is still using version 9.1, I would suggest that you stick with it.
    At least for now.

Becuase I still use 9.1 on another computer, and it works just fine, and without the above annoyances.
I also prefer the interface over the flat faded look.

I don't see any benefits in upgrading to that.

I've been a PW user for eons. So far, there's not a single feature beyond v9.1 (and there hasn't been that many) that I've ever had use for over the years... v9.1 has done everything I ever needed done. The fast loading, simplistic, FREE, Linux-based Recovery Media disappeared in v10 and beyond... and the current v12 LIVE (as well as WinPE-based) application interface is cumbersome, much more than it needs to be.

As a previous, long time user, I just haven't found any compelling reason to move forward with PW.

Well, the v9.1 Recovery Media was FREE... I guess that was too easy to crack :argh:

...and, a quick look on the Infobahn show that cracked versions of PW v11.6 (last before v12 release) abound.

I can't remember the exact version that I used before but I stopped using it as I had a license and they blocked it after a few re-activations and I simply do not do business with companies who do that (ehemm ehmm Kaspersky) . If I own a license, I want to be able to reinstall and reactivate as much as I want. I only have 1 computer but I format a lot.

Do you have a link to the v9 that still works? I'm having a hard time finding a partitioning program that actually works. I tried AOMEI Partition Manager on 2 systems and it destroyed both of them when trying to resize the partitions.

    @stapp

I installed v9.1, man it's so much better. v12 is very clunky and has a PUP. I also disabled it from having inbound/outbound internet access via the Windows Firewall rules and now it doesn't prompt me to upgrade when I launch it.

I'm looking for Bootable Media 9.1 (Linux based) iso. Can't find it after 30 min. searching around.

I have a MiniTool Partition Wizard Professional Ultimate + Lifetime Upgrade Service for 3 PCs License.
I have just built a new desktop and wish to transfer the license from the old one, but it appears that it simply counts the number of activations and won't allow me to de-activate one.

Does anyone have more information about MiniTool licenses?

I'm afraid you'll have to reach out to the vendor and ask for their help

    Thanks, Oliver.

You're right. Lifetime is only lifetime if you can keep the activation alive for all your life.

That's why I stopped doing business with MiniTool I also had a lifetime license and got tired of having to email them to unblock my license all the time since I format a lot. I hate it when a paid license cannot be easily deactivated through some online portal or at least it can detect that you're not using it if you uninstalled it. Same reason why I won't touch Kaspersky products.

it has no support for exFAT. I work a lot with USB sticks and SDHC. Not a deal breaker, but just an additional step I have to make.

At the moment it seems to be able to create them (any size) and move them around, but not re-size them... that's very wierd.

I haven't tried a re-size, but I have extended into unallocated space successfully.

By the way, MiniTool support is crap. I hesitate to even call it "support".
