A very full 32GB usb stick needs to duplicated to: i) a 64GB usb stick (new) ii) an external HD Should I copy and paste or Use Macrium? Thank you in advance
Be aware that you most likely will not be able to image a usb flash drive with macrium. Of course, that's only a problem if the flash drive is not seen as an external drive AND the usb drive is bootable.b If neither of those criteria apply to you, you could use "Create a File and Folder Backup" option to backup the drive. The resulting backup will not be bootable when restored, but everything else will be there. If the drive is bootable, I suggest you take at look at Terabytes Image for Windows. That works with bootable flash drives very easily.
Is there a way to check to see if the usb stick is bootable or not without having to download extra software?
The files on my USB flash drive that I want to copy with Macrium are: rtf, text document, usb recovery.E01 files Should I still proceed using Macrium to do this or without Macrium by simply copy and paste? I am not trying to make a bootable os.
Yes, copy & paste is all you need to do. For large amounts of data, I use FastCopy. But you don't need that. I actually used FastCopy recently to transfer all my data over from my older computer's backup drives to my newly built computer's backup drives. It works well for large data transfers.
I don't really know. I have read some comparison articles in the past, but they all seem to differ in opinion.
