Anybody here using Malwarebytes 4 Premium as an anti-virus replacement?

While it isnt the best product in lab tests I can see that there is more than marketing about Malwarebytes positioning as such, considering the threat landscape of today (PUPs, exploits, ransomware and malvertising). it should be pretty good in the real world.

Thanks guys, I am using it and so far so good, really digging its web protection and I noticed that the system performance impact was much lowered in version 4.

I don't know where they came up with that version. Mine says it is up to date at v4.1.0.56.

no, why should i with windows 10? defender is same strong as other but w/o the known issues.
concerning the size of MBAM4 > 150mb it would be a replacement but it isnt - in special not the Free versions which lacks of anti-exploit, anti-ransom and realtime. regarding that windows 7 is end of support (where WD+MSE had benefit) some dont need any other as windows defender since win8 or newer - mbam 4 premium (paid) is waste of money.

    current full setup is "mb4-setup-consumer-4.1.0.119-1.0.854-1.0.21006.exe"
4.1.1.115 concerns IMO the online setup.

May or may not work as well on a PC but it's great on a Mac. I feel like I used my money wisely and I thank @Thankful for posting the discounts here on the Wilders forum. Installing Windows Defender on a Mac, I don't think so. I've had enough problems with Windows Office on my Mac.:)

if you cite then please the whole context - i am speaking about Windows 8 and 10, not mac where it could be different.

No doubt about that, Microsoft Defender is a top tier solution without the conflicts and bugs that other antiviruses have.

I will be using Malwarebytes 4 Premium along with it, I have a lifetime license that I won here on Wilders, so save for performance (maybe) I wont be sacrificing anything.

for my needs i currently run MBAM 2.1 (not installed) with same signatures to check files if i where asked. i bought lifetime short before it ran out. but that is not the point. i also needed to learn how strong defender really is and while using windows 10 it really grew up. i dont have doubt that people using another antivirus have no issues as long the work in a fixed space - thats why i abandonned any of those decade(s) ago because they annoyed me. what i know that all antivirus use same libraries and services (eg virustotal). the difference is very small and thats what the tests always point out in missed samples or fp. mbam itself has advantage searching the registry like adwcleaner do and adwcleaner is specialized to search in places where mbam dont.
