It sounds similar, but it's not. For one, the problem disappeared after the reporter restarted the computer; in my case the problem persists over many restarts and chrome/eset reinstallations. Second, disabling eset (pausing it) has no effect on the problem. Third, it's the memory that peaks not the cpu. Fourth, it started as of version 82.0.4083.0 of chrome and has worked perfectly well until then.
Yes it's not quite the same. I guess that you can report it there or contact their support to solve the problem.
Hello! Do you guys get this audit failure in the Event Viewer since the update to the latest version?https://i.imgur.com/IN8Zjnu.jpg
Last year, there was the same issue https://forum.eset.com/topic/20188-eset-amsi-dll-issue-on-win-10-x64-1903/
today i gave eis a try, i was using kis beforehand. so i had the chance to see them both in action and compare them in detail. it's been a long time since i used an eset product on my systems and i must say that not much seems to have changed since the last time. it feels so noughties with its startup scan, dated layout of modules and whatnot. the advanced settings ui is way too cluttered. and compared to kis, it requires too many tweaks to get it going the way i want. so, i ditched it, sorry eset. p.s.: special thanks to @Minimalist for encouraging me to try it out.
Actually, the issue never went away. In the prior version, it just didn't show up in that specific event log but did in others such as code integrity. The problem is Eset needs to get a special MS code signing cert. only issued to AV vendors. My take is that cert. cost $$$$$. So Eset is instead signing the .dll with their driver cert.. The event log entries can be ignored since eamsi.dll is loaded properly in whatever .exe's are being injected along with amsi.dll .............
Everything is the same except for a bug I found if AML suspicious activity setting is set to aggressive. HIPS needs to be set to "Auto" instead of "Smart" mode. If not, you won't get an Eset alert but instead another UAC prompt when UAC is set to max. level.

Eset Internet Security version 13.1.16.0 offered through manual update. Restart required. Update type -> Regular Update
I am still in version 13.0.24.0. It has not been updated to the latest version automatically, nor does it show it by doing a manual search. Has anyone else been experiencing this?
Yes, I just checked and I am at 13.1.16.0 and going to update produced nothing. Is that the latest version? I should learn to read back a little bit.
My father's PC did update automatically to version 13.1.16.0, but mine follows version 13.0.24.0. I do a manual search from the same program and it doesn't show any available updates. Previously it had already happened to me that one PC was automatically updated and the other was not, but by doing the manual search the program was updated.
I've just got automatically offered Eset Internet Security version 13.1.21.0 This is on regular updates channel. Reboot required as usual. I don't have more info at the moment. This was quick after the previous version 13.1.16.0 I don't know the reason.
I got it and was prompted for a reboot. Can't find any info, even on their forum. Must have been a critical issue to be rolled out like this with no info.
Version 13.1.21.0 Added: Windows 10 H1-2020 compatible Added: Banking & Payment : Remote access application notification Improved: Banking & Payment : Re-director link quality Improved: License over-use blocking Improved: Advanced setup accessible by screen-reader software Improved: Read out notifications by screen reader software Improved: Uninstaller feedback screen removed Improved: Installer refactoring Fixed: Banking & Payment : On-screen keyboard scrambler improvements Fixed: Minor bugs
Thanks Marcelo and Jack. I see the changelog now too at https://www.eset.com/int/home/internet-security/download/ Go there to advanced download. Whether the changelog for 13.1.21.0 is so much different there compared to the one for 13.1.16.0 is another matter (as far as I can tell) Changelog there for 13.1.21.0 : Version 13.1.21.0 Added: Windows 10 H1-2020 compatible Added: Banking & Payment : Remote access application notification Improved: Banking & Payment : Re-director link quality Improved: License over-use blocking Improved: Advanced setup accessible by screen-reader software Improved: Read out notifications by screen reader software Improved: Uninstaller feedback screen removed Improved: Installer refactoring Fixed: Banking & Payment : On-screen keyboard scrambler improvements Fixed: Minor bugs Changelog there for 13.1.16.0 : Version 13.1.16.0 Added: Windows 10 H1-2020 compatible Added: Banking & Payment : Remote access application notification Improved: Banking & Payment : Re-director link quality Improved: License over-use blocking Improved: Advanced setup accessible by screen-reader software Improved: Read out notifications by screen reader software Improved: Uninstaller feedback screen removed Improved: Installer refactoring Fixed: Banking & Payment : On-screen keyboard scrambler improvements
