    As a new user of Qubes OS, and coming from Mint Mate, I see precious few things 'intuitive' about Qubes OS. For instance, how do you mount drives? Something so basic, yet seemingly hidden.

    Well, this is about SecureDrop, which previously to the Qubes version, required multiple computers, so in that sense it is more intuitive.
    Also, the workflow is better compared to using a bunch of VM's on a normal OS. But yes, it will take time to learn to use it.
    Do you mean USB drives? They're by default attached to sys-usb, to protect dom0. You can mount them inside sys-usb, or use the Devices widget to attach it to a VM of your choice:
