Installing November 12 Win7 Servicing Stack Update KB 4523206 may lock up your PC. Only known fix at this point is to revert to backup. (You can't uninstall a SSU.)

Reported problem with Drive Mappings after installing this month's Win10 1909 cumulative update, KB 4530684. Looks like it knocks out AD management. Only identified solution is to roll back the patch.

Microsoft Pushes Windows 10 Autopilot Update by Mistake, How to Remove
    https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/ne...10-autopilot-update-by-mistake-how-to-remove/
While this update should not cause any issues for consumer versions of Windows, it is better to remove it if it is not needed.

To uninstall the KB4532441 update from Windows 10, you can use the following steps:

Open Control Panel, go to Programs > Programs and Features, and click on View installed updates in the left sidebar.

Next, right-click on the KB4532441 entry in the list and confirm when asked if "Are you sure you want to uninstall this update?". Next, you'll have to click 'Yes' when asked and then restart your device.

Once the update is uninstalled, you will be required to reboot your computer.

Installed .Net, MSRT and Cumulative for win 10 1909 (build now at 18363.592)
One machine seemed to get hung up on Cumulative ''getting things ready-70%'' the other machine didn't.
Both machines are back up and running okay.

I've updated 7 Windows 10 PCs so far without any obvious issues. And a couple with Server 2012 r2.

For anyone who has just moved up to Win 10 from Win 7 you can still have the 'joy' of the Windows startup sound (you know the one that announces to the whole family that you're on the machine again :D)

Settings..system..sound..sound control panel (on right of page) sound tab..tick play windows startup sound box at bottom.

One of my Windows 7 computers handed me 63 Optional Updates this afternoon.

If they are available tomorrow I may take a look at them.

Before imaging and then migrating to Kubuntu, I updated my two Windows 7 x64 systems for the final time and installed KB4534310, KB4536952, KB4535102 and MSRT KB890830.
Well, that messed up my custom desktop theme, for some reason. Windows and sounds settings were saved, but my custom desktop background (wallpaper) does not show. I haven't figured out yet how to correct this.
If this is Microsoft's way to say goodbye and to motivate the user to finally migrate to Linux, it'll do the trick. I liked Windows 7 a lot, but I'll be happy when I'll finally migrate to Kubuntu this month.

    Thanks, Paul.
I anticipated my move to Linux since Microsoft started pushing W10 setup files to W7 installations, August 2015. As I said, I liked W7, and I was fine with Microsoft, until they started pushing W10. I cannot imagine moving to W10. I hope the Linux meadows will provide me with all the nourishment that all I need to thrive.

The first similar reports that I found:
    https://www.sevenforums.com/customization/422169-windows-7-after-end-support-screen-no-background.html

Several more reports, not only for Windows 7, but some for Windows 10 as well!
    https://www.reddit.com/r/windows/comments/ep070p/end_of_support_means_end_of_wallpapers/
    https://www.reddit.com/r/windows/comments/epj0fe/windows_7_wallpaper_is_now_black/

    One more:
    https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/711684/themeswallpaper-not-working-since-tuesdays-windows-update/

One report in which the poster states that no recent updates were installed the days before, except for Windows Defender. Curiouser and curiouser!
    https://www.sevenforums.com/customization/422203-background-suddenly-gone-black-cannot-change.html

    EDIT:
I think the issue may be that the option 'Stretch' for the desktop background picture position no longer works, for some odd reason, since installing KB4534310.
If earlier the user applied the option 'Stretch', now a black desktop background is shown.
A way to get around that issue, is setting for instance 'Center' or 'Fill' (not 'Stretch') for the desktop background picture position, and save changes to create an adjusted or new personalized theme that will be applied successfully.

Even though I'm busy preparing to migrate to Kubuntu, one system first, my main system later, I couldn't let go of that desktop background issue. :)

    Bump of my yesterday's edit.

If anyone tends to keep Windows 7, but is confronted with the issue of a black desktop background after installing January 14's Windows updates, I think I found a fix.
