Opera Software released a new stable version of the web browser on December 5, 2019. The new Opera 55 web browser for Android devices includes a new Night Mode and improved keyboard dimming functionality.
The new version of the mobile web browser should be offered to Android users soon via Play Store updates. It may also be downloaded from Google Play (and other sources) manually.

The major new feature of Opera 55 for Android is the browser's redesigned Night Mode. It is disabled by default but may be activated with a tap on the Opera icon and the toggling of Night Mode in the menu.

2020 is on, and at Opera, we are already working at full speed on new things for everyone who wants a better browser.

In the browser division, we continued our innovation path and our user base continued to grow, our products received awards and user ratings continued upward. We are grateful for all the positive feedback we have gotten and I am proud of what the browser team achieved in 2019.
The internet is constantly evolving, and browsers need to adapt and follow the lead to stay ahead – something that requires constant innovation.
What’s happening in 2020, you ask?
Well, we never disclose new features until they ship, but we are working on productivity and time-saving functions, and improvements for tasks we do every day. We put the user in control – thus further enhancements to how they can control their online privacy and security will take place. And maybe a few more surprises we’ll keep under wraps for now.

Opera 67 Stable launches with Workspaces feature

Opera Software has released a new stable version of the Opera desktop web browser on February 25, 2020. Opera 67 is available for all supported operating systems as an in-browser update or new installation. Users of the web browser may select Opera Menu > Update & Recovery to run a check for updates (or by loading opera://update/ in the browser's address bar directly).

Workspaces is an attempt to improve the management of tabs in the browser. Basically, what it allows you to do is place tabs into workspaces to access a subset of open tabs at once. The feature may look like Firefox's container functionality but it is different as it is only used to separate tabs but not to contain browsing data inside.
Opera 67 users may create up to five different workspaces; this is done with a click on the sidebar menu (the three dots at the bottom of the sidebar).

Opera also includes options to enable DNS over HTTPS and to select the service that you want to use for that by selecting one of the available preset services or by customizing the functionality.
