It is still "available", but in some cases backups will be created in the new format .tibx:

Well, tibx sounds to me like any modern rolling development thing - release an unfinished thing early, and then add features later, and apparently affects partition backups, which is the most important thing. So I guess 2019 it is then.

Acronis once again is excelling at mediocity. There were a lot of issues with the beta so their solution was to release. The need to go back to focusing on backup/restore and forget trying security. Fortunately with 2019 I use autoruns64 to shut down all the unnecessary crap. Restore is still a mess, but it does work

Hm, I've been looking around. There's ati 2019 on amazon, but reading q&a, some people say the key is expired (I guess Acronis want people to use 2020). Any suggestions on reputable sources that might sell the software + license, or has that boat sailed, and I'd better explore something else?

If you can trial 2019. I've stopped using it. Imaging not bad, but the restore is a monstrosity. It does work, but it's like scratching your right ear with your left hand.

Thanks for your posts - I have Acronis True Image 2019 and agree with Peter2150 - restore is a monstrosity. They do have reasonably good support is the best I can say about my experience with Acronis to date.

2020 WinPE version is launching and backing up a whole OS disk OK, no problem, when running from a Win10XPE boot USB. But when a restore is attempted, the whole ATI GUI crashed when trying to lock volumes, specifically the "Y" volume, which is the USB volume. Never happened with ATI2019 under Win10XPE.

Hi OliverJia, that is pretty bad news. After reading your post, I did new tests with the latest Acronis build (22510, 2019-11-19) and for me everything worked OK (3 backups and 3 restores, 3 different systems). I used my own PE and used my own scripts to download Acronis and extract only the PE files from it (like I always do). As you may remember, I load the 3 Acronis drivers "on the fly" in PE, so it can run "semi-portable".
Of course, restores should NEVER fail, so I'm taking your test very seriously. Maybe something will be fixed in a new build, or maybe we will hear from other Win10XPE + Acronis 2020 users.

Nice to see you here pal.
I heard some feedback from other users back at the Oven. It appears when the script is set to "Run from RAM" then Acronis will restore fine under Win10XPE boot environment. But if set to "Run from USB" then the restore will always crash. This is confirmed by me and another user.
So the solution for me is to set the built script to "Run from RAM" for Acronis

OliverJia, nice to see it worked in the end, would be nice if you had posted here that Acronis was not to blame, but probably the Win10XPE script from TheOven.org.
My own portable launcher actually runs from "disk" (USB drive letter Y: in PE), so not really from "RAM" (X: in PE), so now I wonder what the actual problem is with the XPE script, maybe I will do some tests later.

It's always nice to see that however bloated and confusing the full installed version of Acronis becomes through the years, the "basic" version that runs in PE (and that can be extracted from the setup file without even installing it), still works the same, with the classic User Interface.

Indeed quite intriguing why the Win10XPE script does not work from USB but yours works. I noticed right before restore, Acronis would "lock" all the drives including the USB drive Y. Maybe that's when the crash happens because the Acronis exe files are not yet loaded into memory before the Y usb drive was locked?

I agree that the classic "Basic" version of Acronis still is strong and potent.
