Yes! this is the exact resource I used to make a simple switch over to Release Preview ring and get 1909.

I can read German so I appreciate the two resources you provided. The only thing: the ISO links, they would be in German, I presume? I guess there's no way to opt for English if using those.

    Likewise.
It would seem like it. Here's the filename of one of the ISOs -
    Code:
    18363.356.X64_DE-CLIENTCORE_V2_clientConsumer_Final.ISO | 4.3 GB
Then the article also states -

I installed October Win Updates on two 7x64 machines without issue.
That would be the x64-based Quality Rollup (KB4519976), the Malicious Soft Removal Tool (KB890830) and a couple Office and Excel updates.
    FWIW :)

I just installed KB4519976 in my W7. I thought I was also supposed to get KB4524157 but it wasn't offered. I think I read that it was pulled but I am not sure. Does anybody know if its included in KB4519976 or should I get the installer from the catalogue or what is the proper thing to do about it..I had not started my W7 for about a month so I don't know if KB4524157 would have been offered in early October when it first came out.

Bo, Windows Update sent you the correct patch (KB4519976) for October. Forget about 4157 (it is wrapped up in 9976).

You have to wonder if they are failing on purpose at this point. I'm assuming I don't have to care about this issue if I run 3rd party AV.

Did the Windows Autopilot (such a weird name) update and the Cumulative.Net one.
Had to restart, then did the latest Cumulative KB4522355 which took the build number up to 18362.449
Cumulative one stalled in all the usual places and installed twice for me.
    No after affects :)

Got the same updates. Not sure about the Autopilot. From it's description we shouldn't get that one:

It seems to do no harm and if more people get it we will hear about it from for example Ask Woody and things hopefully become more clear.

Well, the Autopilot update was not offered here, rightfully. The machine, however, did get what appears to be the same KB three times now. It is showing up only once in Control Panel, though. This is the Release Preview Ring, with the enablement for 1909 so winver is 18363.449. I also think some extra free disk space is taken up by something System-related but not sure what.

Well I just read the AutoPilot overview and I can't see any benefit in having it on my solitary home PC.

Someone over at Ask Woody site posted this about why Home 1903 users are receiving the Autopilot update:
Have no clue what the "chip" reference is about. Again, I believe this is related to the upcoming 1909 release. Also a whole bunch of Win drivers updated in this cumulative update. One that caught my eye was hvservice.sys.

I believe it's cult language for 'supported OEMs' - currently 8 of them participate in this program (with 1 soon to come).
See here, and then there (scroll at the bottom).
