Their Community Forum seems to have disappeared from the face of the earth...

Perhaps it's something to do with the vBulletin zero day hack.

Maybe this was the easiest way out for HDS of having to answer legitimate user questions ... although, to be honest, they have been few and far between since their forum has basically become a ghost town.

...or maybe Rollback RX has actually fixed all of it's issues since 2011 , never can tell.

...or possibly the HDS 0-day SOLUTION! The Forum page now has no more server errors... but is just <blank> and all white, yet another clean slate (almost exactly the same as they did a few years back when they didn't want new users to see the product history).

    oh well...

So... I tried getting access to the Community Support Forum from the HDS homepage and it now takes you the the REDDIT.COM HDS page which has nothing newer than a year old and just MarketSpeak stuff. It used to go to the actual Community Support Page

I have no idea what's going on...

On an inquiry, the following was received from the HDS Sales & Marketing team (our ol' buddy Kurtis)...

Hello Froggie, We'll have more news to come in an upcoming blog post but we are no longer using vBulletin for any future message board related needs. We'll be explaining the reasons for the transition and why we chose Reddit in the upcoming blog post. Apologies for any inconvenience and thank you for your understanding. Best Regards,

They're dropping like flies... Rollback RX HOME - End of Life.

This following some user who went to test the app 6-days ago and gets nothing other than BSODs after the installation. HDS has offered him Pro to use instead... with a promise of a reduced license cost.

    This company is unbelievable...

I have never used it, but from what I hear, wasn't it a bit dodgy?

"Dodgy" would be a very "kind" description of that app.

For anyone interested, they released a new build a few days ago and it seems to have cured the corruption issues i've been having. Hopefully it lasts....

Sure thing Froggie. :thumb: I've posted over there that their build number doesnt match the actual programs build number and that they havent updated the release notes.

Just before the old forums were removed there was a post about RB crashing after creating over 300 snapshots continuously (some one actually set this up). HDS were remarkably able to reproduce this. Also there were some serious issues with the new Validation tool showing corrupted snapshots but then failing to repair or repairing snapshots that loaded without error. The validator tool eventually crashed when validating the 300+ snapshots.
HDS were working on these issues and promised a release soon which has now been fulfilled. Since i havent been able to corrupt my system at this time (with this new build), I can only conclude that they stumbled upon a fix while attempting to repair the other issues (or they were somehow related).

Will report my experience next weekend (or sooner if corruption rears its ugly head).

EDIT: I just wanted to add that my reports of corruption were never acknowledged by HDS.....which is typical "If we ignore the issue maybe it will go away" attitude. Conveniently for HDS, it seems this philosophy has paid off.:thumbd:

@Peter2150 - @carfal and I have had this discussion in the past. He's very knowledgeable concerning the app and protects himself very well against its shortcomings.

His "problem"... he's addicted to its speed :argh: He really loves what it tries to do, but also understands that it has its issues and protects himself accordingly. I would never do this, but each of us respects our individual views and needs.

Although I no longer use the product, I've always been a "snapshot junkie" and Carfal has been my tether into that realm. Keep on truckin', Carfal :thumb:
