Exactly speaking, what's blocked is XMLHttpRequest to https://www.wilderssecurity.com/threads/advertising.421722/. The direct cure is to add "@@/advertising.$domain=www.wilderssecurity.com" w/out quotation to your filter (or "@@/advertising$domain=www.wilderssecurity.com" to make it compatible w/ another thread which is blocked by another rule), but such a rule is not worth being kept permanently. This form of FPs are really commonplace for EL/EP and I bet all of you have encountered them but just forgot or didn't notice. E.g. the 1st image of this site is blocked 'cause they happened to have name of "ts_ad01.jpg" which triggers an EL rule "_ad01.". This is not a serious FP, but it's questionable how many people notice this w/out given caution, and ofc there are more serious ones like what have happened here. The fundamental cause is that EL includes thousands of aggressive generic rules. Okay, they're mostly ad-related words, but even limited to English the words like "ad" & "ads" can be used in various ways - not to mention other languages. What if when you subscribe EP and other Fanboy's lists too? Indeed, most FPs I've come across came from EP and I stopped using Fanboy-Social after finding it has blocked many articles which happened to include words such as "Facebook" in their title. Compared to this, AdGuard's filters take safer approach - even their English filter which includes EL had removed hundreds of EL rules. Tho I appreciate EL maintainers, they came from the era when most Adblock users could solve FPs by themselves. It's unrealistic to expect users to report all those FPs (*) while now most users are noobs. For some regional filters emerging new filters have been replaced the place, but it hasn't happend for English filter so far. (*) It's not always one-time step to report FPs. In one case, the maintainer made too permisive rule which would have allowed many trackers too, so I needed some more communication.
