It might be worth looking into. They say they don't log, are fast for me, and have decent built-in security features.

Yeah, on Windows 10 WD is performing quite well but despite it provides ransomware protection (aka folders protection) there is no rollback method in case of infection so I would suggest you to add KART 4 or something like Appcheck next to it just to be on the safe side.

Why do you think you need all this? The first two should be ample.

Not all will stay, mearly testing since I already have a license for all, some lifetime, but I have to say that they are coexisting nicely with one another.

Okay I was just curious. BTW, I use Sphinx firewall on Windows 10. Excellent firewall :thumb:

Decided to simplify, need what works best on my computer, no popups, no issues, just sit there and only squawk when detecting an actual issue.

EAM gone, decided to use only free softs or ones that I already have licenses to, Sandboxie gone, hasn't worked right for a couple of months, will work for a few days then something breaks and I have to re-install, Shadow Defender gone, can't confirm but I think it was causing bsod"s, none since I uninstalled, Appguard, gone, had lifetime license for version 4 but that version is pretty much obsolete now, Voodoo Shield gone, also have lifetime license, works great but just recently threw popups for installation of MB4 and also throws popups for a couple other of legit programs I frequently update, this may be one I go back to if needed. OSA gone, I think WD with Configure Defender may make it redundant.

So right now WD with Configure Defender and MB4. No issues updating anything and they just sit there silent until needed.

MB4 in real-time I guess? (I have it because of lifetime licenses, but on demand only).

Also inclined to simplify now , and I have also stripped down completely on one instance to WD but with Hard_Configurator (only).
On my other 'production' instance still have EAM, and HmP.A, with Glasswire Elite monitoring firewall. (I do actually have OSA there too, but in passive logging mode only).

Test machine has a bunch of stuff, just for playing around. :shifty:

I had a lifetime license and used Appguard on Windows 7. I really liked the program. I'm assuming a person can't transfer to a new box with Windows 10. Or has anyone been able to do that? The old computer is not even hooked up to the internet anymore.

you can transfer your current license to a new system. ag allows you to do that 3 times. if you don't wanna consume your rights, then you should first uninstall it from your old pc before you install it on your new pc.

The PC needs to be connected to the internet while uninstalling else you will loose a license (while uninstalling AppGuard is phoning home and unbounds the license from the PC)

I'm evaluating rehips at the moment, and for someone used to this kind of thing, seems OK, mainly a question of understanding concepts. I like the idea and the fact it uses standard controls.

My main problem with reHIPS for me is that the annual fee would be horrific given that I'm a VM junkie and some of my machines would be for commercial use - it makes no sense to do this on a per-machine basis, and they don't seem to have got around to a better licensing option unless I've missed something.

In terms of security setup, the use of virtual machines is an important control for me, and actually achieves some of the protections that rehips/sandboxie do, particularly since I never browse in the host, and almost all browsing and a lot of apps are done with Firejail on various guest Linux VMs. Reversion & recovery is a doddle.

Changing host to a W10 pro, I think I'm going to go with Hard Configurator and Controlled File Access, since relatively few apps need to run there anyway. CFA isn't wonderful but will do. On Windows 10 virtual machines, I'm going to stick with eset and sandboxie for the moment - I don't need sandboxie updates for the browsers since I do that on linux anyway. I'll probably run Simple SRP too, since I'm used to that.

in your case, rehips, sbie or any other sandboxing sw is not necessary. you already have a safe & secure setup. save your money for something else. :thumb:

Thank you for this reply. The annual rate would indeed be a factor--49.75 USD. On the site, it says "7% goes to charity" but no further detail. I removed Sandboxie a while ago though it still works well. Right now, Defender plus OSArmor is a decent-enough foundation for me. :)

I've decided to run only the AdGuard Extensions for Chrome and Firefox on the Mac Computer and no other third party Security Software. I got tired of the bugs in updates of third party software. I believe when macOS Catalina comes out this fall it will have more than enough Security for the Mac. Besides it's getting harder for third party security software to work together on Mac's Upgrades. :)

    4 Gb Ram,

    Windows 10, SUA,

    Macrium Reflect

    Previous config:

    Comodo FW
    - FW Custom Ruleset
    - Autosandbox blocks all unknown

    Windows Defender - default settings

    NVT OSArmor

PC used to drag every now and then, especially when I turned Comodo HIPS on or Shadow Defender. When tried Zemana AL, sometimes keyboard failed - compatibility issues with Comodo.

    Current config:

    Sphinx Windows 10 FC Plus

Windows Defender - turned ASLR on

    VoodooShield free, always on

NVT OSArmor + Sys Hardener + Win Update Stop

Shadow Defender - mostly in Shadow Mode

    It feels lite.
