Actually, the best ones are made of nylon that's been plated with nickel, and then silver. Plus a protective liner, and a heavy nylon or leather shell.
Yep if you are not a rich, however if you are used to buy luxury cars or villas, spending the equivalent of a commoner's car price for a luxury phone isn't much insanity but more lifestyle.
I think most in Australia buy expensive phones because they sign up for a plan with their ISP. That is just my guess though.
I'm sure that's what they do. They don't buy the phone upfront, but pay it off over 2 years or so. Years ago, I did that too. But these days, I buy my phones outright and am not on a mobile plan. It's much cheaper that way. I just spend $30 every month or two to buy credit for my phone. When it runs out, I can still receive calls.
same here, i charge my phone with 10$ credits then pick several options: 2$ for 500mn calls + 25cents for 500sms + 5$ for 35Gb 4G data plan yes, in several countries too like mines. USA's corporations are scammers and most consumers are satisfied...no wonder Google, Verizon and Facebook became giants
Yes, when my credit has run out, I can still receive calls and texts. But my voice mail (or message bank, as we call it here) is disabled, so people can't leave me voice messages. I think I have about two or three months after my credit expires, before my number gets deactivated. A number of years ago, you got very little for $30 of credit. Basically, you'd make a few calls and it would run out. These days, I've never never run out of credit before it ends in 28 days, even when texting people in the US.
I would have thought so. I don't have any experience with prepaid phones in the US. When I lived there, I was on a plan.
I have 2 paid for phones and still pay AT&T $140 a month for a plan with 2GB of data. Dumb phones are looking better by the minute. Or maybe a cheap prepaid.
On AT&T https://www.att.com/plans/wireless.html Unlimited calls and texts, 3GB of data $80/mo. for 2 lines
Wow you get ripped off... To sad... even in France it is way cheaper. 20euros (around 23$) for 100gb 4G data and unlimited calls/sms local and to selected countries. We have cheaper plans with less datas. Our internet fiber has no limits since we all use VOIP for calls and IPTV for hundreds of channels with a price of 40e max.
For $20, I get 2.5GB of data. If I recharge before the credit expires in 28 days, any unused data get added to what my provider calls a data bank. This gives me extra data to use on top of the 2.5GB. I only use about 200MB of data a month.
I'm on a BYO $49 plan which gives me 30 GB per month for the first 12 months and 15 GB per month there after. Yeah, I doubt I'd use much more than that too.
I get 2gb of data for $60/month, more than enough for me, never even come close to using it all, most of the time I am connected to my internet wifi. And I don't stare at my phone 14 hours a day.
My kids phones get 30 GB of data for $45/month. They use almost all of the data. My wife's phone gets 30 GB and she uses 200 MB.
I also use a normal cell phone for making calls. Smartphones are sometimes handy when I haven't got access to my desktop. I mainly use it for checking stock qoutes. But if you're not an active user of social media like Facebook, Instagram and don't really communicate a lot via Whatsapp, you don't really need a smartphone. I believe people use it mainly for this stuff.
