Yeah this one. Probably the vendor list and the Guarded Apps. Those can vary between rebranders. But since you can customize any tabs, it is no big deal. Official Appguard v6 incorporated lot of Japanese vendors (expected since its acquisition by a Japanese conglomerate).
So, guest, do you think I should buy it and when I customize/add it will be identical to BRN's Solo v6 (GUI not withstanding)? Tuitio should have everything that Solo has including Mem Protection? Wish they had a Trial period. Hope that Catcus5 will chime in as he/she has both versions for comparisons. Robert P.S. I am Japanese. Do you think they will give me a discount?
just the cosmetics and default entries changes, the rest is 100% identical, however you are under the rebrander support team , not the official AG one. if you buy, be sure it is v6 lol i doubt about it lol. but 'those who never try will never get"
No trial. 30 Day money back guarantee. Yep 90 bucks for the first year, 70 bucks for renewal each year thereafter. Latest version is 6.2.9.1113
This is ridiculous. The irony here is a ransom's being paid to secure against ransomware, when there's no need for this type of ransomware protection for home systems especially.
Not ridiculous. They are doing what a lot of companies are doing. Supporting home users is expensive. So they price it that way. Makes sense to me.
Appguard doesn't need nor want to sell to home users, so the discussion about is pointless. The thread should be closed and a new one named Tech Fortress/Tuitio open for further discussion for home users.
Until the company refuses to sell to home users, it's not pointless, and the thread title is simply: "Appguard" As a home user intrigued by the product, I simply ask myself if the steep purchase price and subsequent yearly renewals are worth the additional security it provides me, when for years I've used alternative and far less costly means to secure against ransomware, without ever getting hit by the threat. The obvious answer is "No".
It depends on your risk. For me to protect the data it's worth it. In my personal testing Appguard blocked everything. For the typical home user I'd probably agree with you
Which is why it isn't a home user product anymore and becames SMB-oriented, at least for Solo, consequently the price rised.
As @guest said, the differences were in guarded apps and the trusted publishers list. AppGuard Solo had a couple of guarded apps right after install that Tuitio didn't have like File Picker Host UI. Can't remember the others. But it is trivial to make the protection identical on both Solo and Tuitio. They do offer the same protections, the rest is customizing to your liking. I wish I knew the differences between the slight version differences between Solo and Tuitio but that is only known by AppGuard and maybe Bravatek. Like @Peter2150 I also see the price as worth it for what you get in return. I've been using AppGuard for 5 years or so and have very high confidence in it.
I'm sure as @guest and @Peter2150 have pointed out, for small businesses or high risk situations, it's probably a worthwhile investment. For typical home users, there are so many other no cost or lower cost means of securing against Ransomware threats. In all cases, full system backups off line is probably the most important.
I'd have to agree with you. Well worth it here. My choice. If it's to rich for your blood then move on to something more affordable, plenty of solutions available.
simple logic, sadly some want everything for free and complain when they cant get it. A Ferrari cost more than a Volvo, but both can take you at the same place
Oh I know. I have a license for the older version but not never picked up Solo. For me, I am a home user so the price is not worth it to me.
So true, and hopefully those who've forked out the $$ for Solo understand the threat they're using it to protect against and have concluded it meets their needs. I guess for some there must be nothing else available that will nullify the nasty Ransomware threats. Their's an old saying that goes something like: "for those who have more money than common sense" ..but I digress.
There's also a saying that goes like....... "Put not your trust in money, but put your money in trust." I trust AppGuard to keep me safe online, along with a few other select security software's. I can afford it, so why not stay safe.
You can get a "rebagged" ver. of AppGuard Solo here: https://productcentral.aol.com/products/techfortress?ncid=comlnkusstor00000065 . It costs $4.99 per month which is approx. half the cost what BlueRidge charges. Also since its a monthly subscription, you're not stuck paying for an annual license.
I think they started a thread about it here. https://www.wilderssecurity.com/threads/tech-fortress-tuitio.419419/
