For users who are unwilling or unable to pay for AppGuard Solo V6 @$90 per year these are alternatives at almost half the yearly price with the same functionality, dependent on which choice one makes.

AppGuard Solo is a product of Blue Planet-works company (Japan) while we here knew it as Blue Ridge Network (BRN).

AOL Tech Fortress v5.2.9.1 costs $3.99 per month (No yearly) while Tuito v6 (?) costs $49.95 per year.

Just to make sure that we are on the same page:

If a home user decides to purchase Bravatek Tuitio or AOL TechFortress or any other private label, that the consumer has to understand that AppGuard has got nothing to do with those products.

    Tuitio

    https://bravatek.com/solutions/software/tuitio/

    AOL Tech Fortress

    https://productcentral.aol.com/products/techfortress

Tech Fortress endorsement by BRN, which has since been acquired (Blue Ridge Network) and does not reflect their current corporate philosophy regarding AppGuard.

"We are thrilled to partner with AOL to bring its members a new standard of easy-to-use protection against escalating zero-day malware, targeted attacks, and advanced persistent threats," said Blue Ridge Networks' Chairman and CEO John Higginbotham. "AppGuard has been field-proven to provide comprehensive protection that doesn't disrupt users. With AOL Tech Fortress powered by AppGuard, AOL members can be certain that AOL has provided them with effective, immediate protection against these threats for their Windows systems."

As you can see, except for minor GUI changes, it is exactly like AG v4. Only major difference is in the Advance Screen. Need to unistall and reinstall AG to upload pics. TF v5 can be bought for a $1.00 less if you try to cancel your subscription.

Because Tuitio does not have a Trial period, I have sent them an email inquiring that if I purchase and I am not interested at this time in your product, can I get a refund. That was yesterday.

Tuitio is supposed to be almost identical to AG Solo V6 but for almost half the yearly price.

Why, you think that people should know how AG looks?

I don't think anything. I misunderstood your phrasing, that's it. If you had said "I needed to uninstall AG so it won't show up in the screenshots"...

Thought you were saying AG was preventing you to upload pic files, doh!

    K.:)

Will upload Advance tap in AG V4 for comparison. Just for people who are not familiar with AG.

I have trialed Solo V6 and it is the same.

Here is AG V4's Advance tab for comparison:

    Tech Fortess Advance tab:

If not for the subtle differences in the Advance and Trusted Publisher tab's and with the GUI changes, TF v5's configuration sections are the same as AG v4, v5 and Solo v6. But, only Solo v6.x has Memory Guard to protect such highly important exe's such as Lasaa (Local Security Authority Process)—which is highly desirable.

Hope someone who has Tuitio, will chime in for comparison.:thumb:

If Bravatek replies with a positive response, I will post pics.

If you are like me and design of the Interface matters, here is how TF's icon looks:

    3.jpg

In the Systray, it look the same, but depending on what Protection Level you are currently on, it has a small lock or checkmark with different colors in the bottom right side of the icon.

    AG's Systray and Desktop icons:
Lockdown 16.jpg Protected ag systray icon.jpg Allow Installs 17.jpg

    Desktop 15.jpg

...otherwise, everything is just about the same across all platforms. Just minor differences that can be configured by the user. But, at it's core, AG v4, v5 and TF v5 are the same. Except AG Solo v6.x.

As posted by Catus5 (verbatim), "As @guest said, the differences were in guarded apps and the trusted publishers list. AppGuard Solo had a couple of guarded apps right after install that Tuitio didn't have like File Picker Host UI. Can't remember the others. But it is trivial to make the protection identical on both Solo and Tuitio. They do offer the same protections, the rest is customizing to your liking.

I wish I knew the differences between the slight version differences between Solo and Tuitio but that is only known by AppGuard and maybe Bravatek.

Like @Peter2150 I also see the price as worth it for what you get in return. I've been using AppGuard for 5 years or so and have very high confidence in it."

Full transparency, AppGuard thread post #87.

Thank you for this thread, @Roberteyewhy.

After researching both security solutions, I've concluded my current security setup is far more than adequate to defend against the types of threats these programs are designed for. It's not an affordability issue either; I just don't like subscription services of any kind when it comes to securing my device. What I did was spend the extra $100 on the Pro version of Windows 10 and that gave me SRP, Group policy editor, Bitlocker, etc...It's a one time payment with no further annual payments. It gives me everything I need to properly secure my device against these threats. I also spent a one time ~$40 on a software firewall

I would urge anyone looking to purchase subscription software like these, to really think about and understand what they are defending against, and ask themselves if they really need these programs, and especially if, in the long run, are they getting their money's worth? It helps to read up on the analysis of how these attacks wok, especially the more prevalent crime-for-profit Ransomware attacks.

All that's really necessary is to lock down user-space directories, control scripts and block ads in the web browser, lock down Powershell, and use common sense when handling emails and downloading programs. This alone will cripple these threats dead in their tracks.

Anyway, that's about it for me. Thanks again for this thread.

Well said, wat0114...concise and to the point.

It's just that the Global Pubic, sorry to say, 99% do not understand that threat's are constantly evolving—Present and Horrific!

Thanks, guest. This thread is NOT about AppGuard.

    All viewpoints are welcome,

Hopefully you get some willing participants to test these products and provide meaningful feedback on them. I thought about it but it just seems too many hoops to jump through, and I'm not as interested as I was years ago.

As you said, "I'm not as interested as I was years ago."

Me too. Not 20's or 40's, age wise. The older one gets, the more one realize that, "Life is Tough!" We do not live or depend on MOMMY..

    Thanks,

Tech Fortress/Tuitio and similar are SRP, old but proven solid mechanism, same as what you have with Window's SRP but just made easier to use and with some unique features on top.

No need be a genius to use it. A good understanding of the system is required but and that is it.

I think that I have a good understanding of the OS, not as good as you. So! I know a lot about a lot, not just computers. The Market nee Investing, Shopping (We changed the Paradigm) TV through the Service Menu, etc. And, I watch everything. Movies., TV series,, News, etc.—At the comfort at home, Rewind, Stop or Fast Forward, it's just a DVD. All for free!

Bottom line, I do not pay for anything except, ISP (Internet Service Provider) running with IVPN.

Always appreciate your input as well as others.

Looking at the screenshots, in particular the shots of the user-space protection, that's the impression I kind of got. Default-deny approach is pretty rock solid.

User Space is everything! As Lockdown, guest, mood and others have expounded upon...the inert power of these programs is, to be able to unleash it—to achieve it's full capacity...

    ...without, looking stupid.

I am not as good as Lockdown, guest, mood or mirimir . The people here at Wilders are so well informed.:thumb: Just trying to keep up.
