Thanks Pete, you had alluded to this before. Will give it a go soon. Edit: What size UFD would suffice?
Ah, that's why I couldn't find it with a search. The files are imagew64.exe and imagew.exe. So, does imagew64.exe just go in the root? How is it then used?
Copy both the imagew64exe and ifw.ini into the root. Then when you boot to the Strelec Winpe, just use the explorer function just like in windows. Open the USB drive and double lick the exe. That simple
I have a question, maybe trivial, sometimes the symbols for Macrium's images are blurred (see screenshot), what does it mean
Do you run display scaling within Windows? If so, I’m guessing it’s related to that. It’s been getting better over successive releases of Windows 10, but it still has its quirks.
Display scale is on default on my computer, most of the time these Macrium icons are sharp, occasionally they are blurred, although the program has always worked perfectly as far as backups and restores are concerned. As nobody seems to be concerned about it, then it probably has something to do with visuals and therefore unimportant. Thanks
Do you switch between different displays, such as between your laptop's built-in display and an external display? If so and those two displays use different scale factors, then you'll see some blurring whenever there's a switch. The reason is that Windows always renders for the scale factor of the display that was primary when you logged in. For any other display that's active, or if the primary display's scale factor changes during your user session, then Windows uses GPU scaling to resize the rendered result to the desired size. That obviously doesn't look as good as rendering natively for the target scale factor, but that's how it works today. So that might account for blurriness, especially if it's inconsistent.
I used my laptop with a projector in the past, last time was on June 13. Ever since my laptop remained at home working on its own.

I remember an update appearing and then disappearing recently, and Macrium's explanation at the time was that something had happened with their update servers that made the new version no longer available. It wasn't a deliberate retraction due to a problem discovered in the new release. I don't know what's responsible for this particular issue (I don't see this new update available either), but I can wait a bit to update, especially if this case DOES turn out to be a deliberate pull.
...and be careful. As of this morning Macrium's DIRECT DOWNLOADS still only offered v4325, BUT... v4398 is in the wild at the moment so make sure you get it from a trusted source.
I will wait for the official release notes before I download v4398. Maybe they have pulled this version for one reason or another, who knows.
It has been a troublesome feature since being implemented, with some opting not to even bother using it.
CBT seems to have finally stabilized especially with the v4325 release. I finally went back to using it with v7 and it's been solid and very quiet. I am still using the BETA version with v6 and it's been flawless since the BETA program was discontinued prior to the release of v7 (Feb2017)... go figger.
