When is manifest v3 supposed to be implemented?

Will uBlock Origin in its current form/design continue to be maintained for Firefox after maiifest v3 is rolled out on Chrome?

Tho I had switched to Brave for personal use, I hope uBO for Chrome to be maintained as I use Chrome for work.
15k rules is more than enough for me.

I don't like Chrome anyway, so I think I'll just stick with Firefox.

Just don't use extensions to block ads, there is other ways.

 

Just leave Chrome and Google to the masses who couldn’t care less about this issue, or even know about it. There are plenty of good options that are more friendly to users who do care - Firefox and the Chromium forks that won’t follow G’s path. Chrome the best browser? Not by a long shot!

 

Well it wasn't about security to begin with. As usually security is just an excuse to invade users' privacy. I guess some companies are just hungry of data and they have never enough of it.

The way Adguard desktop block ads? It may last some years or less, then this method will be crippled too for "security reasons"

 

Which ways? I'm not familiar with AdGuard as I'm not running Windows. But solutions like Pi-hole and AdGuardHome are DNS-based, and as good as they are in what they are doing - their blocking capabilities are definitely worse compared to browser extensions.

 

@summerheat if one is on Linux, it is probably to avoid all the privacy/security circus that Windows' users had to suffer.
Hence you are probably using Firefox which will still let extensions work without problems.

P. S: yes I was pointing Adguard for Desktop.

 

Yes, but manifest v3 is actually not related to the OS you're using. And Firefox is also available for Windows ... just saying

 

But for now it is the best solution. No one can tell the future.
Anyway, I'm not emotionally bound to a product/soft, when one can't satisfy me anymore, I just switch to another without a second thought.

 

Hehe, I like Chrome and some Google Services, so as long as Adguard still work for it, I don't need FF which i don't really like or dislike.

Before all this Google nonsense I was seriously considering a better and predictably more expensive ChromeBook. I'm now seriously considering a little MacBook or iPad.
