It is good and fast, but i think chromium and chromium based browsers' GUI doesn't work well with GNU/Linux. Bad thing is that they load different wallpapers whenever you open a new tab and there is no way to stop it. That's kind of bloat. Firefox GUI is very snappy on GNU/Linux.

Brave browser now lets you cash out your ad revenue
You'll have to identify yourself first, though. The feature is only in test versions of the ad-blocking browser for now

I finally got around to installing Brave browser on one machine and so far I'm pretty impressed. It is clean and quick.

There are a couple of things I don't like though. So much wasted real estate either side of the address bar. And what's up with the small "Bookmark" icon? I wish we could tweak the UI a little more, similar to how we can move icons and remove "Blank Space" in Firefox.

I was considering installing the Android version but after reading recent reviews I don't want to be bugged by the "Brave Rewards" reminders.

Edit: Found the setting to make the address bar go full to each side similar to Chrome.

The more I use Brave the more I like it. Of course, being me I couldn't help adding a bunch of Chrome extensions but it is now locked down pretty tight. I believe this is a keeper. :thumb:

CCleaner doesn't recognise Brave but I have found an extension I'm happy with - Super History & Cache Cleaner.

Used the early betas, but since it couldnt sync between machines/platforms, I ditched it. Does it now?

@Krusty that is a bit cryptic on telling the way it works and what is synchronized and where it goes.
Reason I use Chrome, all is easily accessible.

I don't blame you being cryptic, just brave not showing more.
Indeed, I could do some researches and even install it, but I was just reading the thread and being lazy lol

    No problems. ;)

    Not to you, guest, but...
My advice to anyone thinking of trying Brave, the first few pages of this thread are not an accurate description of how Brave works, or at least not how I've seen it work.

Thanks, I am glad that you are liking Brave desktop, the android version is great too, better than my old favorite Samsung Internet.

I dont see myself going back to Chrome, Brave is just a better browser and the pretty dark interface is the cherry on top.

With Brave, while you can add all the extensions that you want, you dont need to do so; it is safe, privacy oriented and beautiful by default.

Have you been seeing Brave Rewards reminders?
True, you don't need to but I couldn't help myself. :D

I've started using Brave recently. I'm exploring my options for when Chrome make the changes that will affect some of my "must have" extensions. I also like FF, and planned to make that my new default browser, with Vivaldi and Brave as alternatives. I I find Brave very fast and I like that fact that out of the box it is privacy and security focused, and that it gets updates VERY quickly after Chrome releases a new stable version - within 24hrs usually. I'm leaning towards Brave as a new default. I need to test out the android version and how well sync works before I make a complete switch.

EDIT - Ha! Just realised I said pretty much the same things as Nightwalker above. :)
