    Rasheed187: I posted here and in other threads my regret for old Opera, that I continued to use until now. But every day some new site does'nt work with it, so I'm trying new Opera, and I'm quite happy with it. Give to it a real chance.

    Today I noticed that Opera is trying to update itself even when I have not run the browser. I don't like it but it seems I do not have any choice

    Why don't you all use Vivaldi instead?
    It's from the founder of Opera.
    He started Vivaldi 2 yrs after he sold Opera, had to wait out a non-compete clause.

    You are kidding me right? The only option for me is Vivaldi because of the reasons I already mentioned. Apparently you are not bothered with it any longer, but no ability to put tabs on bottom, is a deal-breaker for me. However, I now do use Opera for testing, because I couldn't stand crappy Chrome any longer. So at least it's better than Chrome and Edge.

    Wasn't that fixable by deleting the Opera updater process?

    as @Rasheed187 pointed out, delete the "opera_autoupdate.exe" file under program files.

    I don't like the Bookmarks Bar in Speed Dial, but I wonder if there is the way to put in the address bar a button link to Bookmarks.

    The thing is, I can live with the performance issues, it just bugs me that I will now have to restart Vivaldi every 3 hours or so. But it I think it's mostly a problem with Chromium in general. I'm sure I would get the same problems with Opera and Chrome, but I have never tested it. The problem is the ridiculous amount of processes that are opened. The people responsible for this multi-process architecture are complete idiots.

    In Firefox you can with CSS, maybe in Opera too.
    As a workaroud I keep my bookmarks in a fixed tab.
