They need to shut up talking about it and get busy rolling the thing out.

Who cares about overstuffed populated cities coming first? Yeah we know, they are the cash cow money heavy areas where the fast buck is fastest but us rural folks have needed hi-speed for ages and still are coping with choke offs (throttling) and snail turtle speeds etc.

By the time 5G gets to where it could reach to those areas folks don't care anymore for any internet-except the kids that game and facebook etc.

That's right, the numbed masses that can only salivate about the next internet fix, and instead have thrown all health issues TOTALLY under the bus. "Smart" cities indeed. This is big brothers dream come true. Everything in your house that has wi-fry in it will be spying on everything you do. NO THANKS. They can SHOVE their hideous technology.

I hope everyone doesn't shut up about it but shouts it from the rooftops what's really behind this diabolical technology.

Agree. They make way too much of it and don't care about anything or anybody else except padding that dollar collection and health issues be stuffed, and everything else including new privacy interruptions/intrusions but who the heck can stop this domino affect? o_O

I think I remember EASTER you talking about having abysmally slow/flakey rural internet? You have my sympathy trust me. Been there done that. I also hear you on "who can stop this". Personally I don't believe it will be, but that doesn't mean I won't shout about the dangers, including those who are jumping on the bandwagon making a buck off snakeoil solutions. The thing is, alone no one can do anything, but there's a growing wave of people collectively from all walks of life world-wide and with varied qualifications, speaking out about this. Notwithstanding Mark Steeles "delivery method" he is really worth listening to on the whole 5G thing. It will facilitate the worst type of surveillance ever, and it's a military weapon. That Wheeler guy (FCC) is an absolute moron for wanting the 5G rollout WITHOUT any testing. We always say, and rightfully so, follow the mighty dollar, but this is waaay bigger than just $.

    5G Isn't A Single Network
5G networks are being deployed by two of the major local carriers. But one of the nuances of 5G is that it's really not a single network. It's a combination of different frequency spectra, with each one having a different use-case. I spoke with Telstra's Network Engineering Executive, Channa Seneviratne, about how different parts of the 5G spectrum will be used.
