Opera used to be the fastest browser I ever used compared to all others. The thing would instantly open sites without the chokes and slows unrolling certain portions or jumping around to correct itself.

It might be even better now. Wouldn't know because haven't tested it in a long while.

Isn't opera just straight up spyware compared to original Opera.

Why would you say that? (The goal of my question is to get information, NOT to challenge what you said. I honestly don't know much of anything about Opera.)

Likewise! :thumb: But I'm still wondering why you think Opera might be spyware.

What a joke, Opera isn't even close to being perfect. Vivaldi is better in so may ways. But I do have to say that Opera is better than Chrome and Edge. It runs quite smoothly, so it's now my back-up browser, for testing stuff. So overall they did do a good job.

The thing is that Opera now integrates much better with Chinese phones with Chinese custom Android port, meaning they have probably done some work in that regard and possibly that also means some background changes!
