not sure if I see the point in this, but to expand on my original answer. If you ask if someone has experience with a particular product you may get useful information. But a general question as you asked it will get a lot of response where everyone tells you there favorite product. You will still need to test them for yourself. That is why it is better to use google, and narrow the field and then ask here about specific products. You will end up with more useful information. Hope this makes sense

If you find one, let me know. I am trying to find one for years, google did not help. I use XnView, but that is for basics. I liked Zoner Photo Studio FREE 18 (I am sure there is an installer out there), but since version 19, it is no longer free.

Here is a list to go through: https://www.softpedia.com/catList/74,1,3,0,1.html

This forum was never user friendly, there are other forums to ask for an advise, this ain't one of them.

This forum is very user friendly if you need specific help. But no not if you just ask a generic question that a small amount of effort could answer

    Just for the record,

If I post as a moderator you will know it.

But otherwise I am posting as a member, and you are free to challenge as long as you stay with in TOS as any other member would

Irfanview and VLC, these are great alternatives I highly recommend and always use myself, they blow the competition/MS's own stuff out of the water as well.

I always found Gizmo's Freeware very informative, for software comparison.
For instance, for image viewer and media player software. And you can find many more comparisons via the site menu or the search box.

My journey: VLC (a big GUI, demanding) > MPC-BE (problems with some videos like Terminator 2 DVD) > MPC-HC (a great simplistic GUI, no buttons, but default settings suck) > Potplayer (much better audio than MPC-HC, louder too).
