I am so glad I found this! I bought my son a Lenovo Laptop and it was slow as Christmas, so I removed as much as I could and it was better, then I stumbled on this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q4ziE5Am0pM&and now it's is very fast compared to how it came out of the box Here's another similar video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nVy4GAtkh7Q
Used to be a program named NLite that was packaged to remove all the BLOAT in Windows and actually have a very snappy windows systems again. Thanks for sharing your references on that.
ntlite for home usage is not ideal to remove unwanted packages, in special not the limiting apps. and it has risk for regular users. maybe the current LTSC would be the better choice for you - it has nothing of the bloating crap. usable down to amd dual core, at least 4gig memory recommended, 2gig is definitely to poor.
Is there any way to use the LTSC forever (with a legit win 10 pro key)? I'm not in the mood to install windows new ever 90+ days. When i get a new pc/laptop I always format it first to get rid of all bloat from the developer. Then i install windows new Maybe take a look at https://www.oo-software.com/en/ooappbuster Let you delete default win apps easyly https://www.oo-software.com/en/shutup10 Gets you some more privacy Both are standalone exes from a legit german company Always have a good backup program if things went south for whatever reason.
i got a legit key from msdn. thats not the common way to activate ltsc with o&o tools - be care full i only can say. i have uninstalled almost all apps i dont want to if windows will let me do. some are deactivated. for shutup i am not sure if it has impact to networking, in special lan. any how i think ltsc will be faster than a cut down pro - i have both here and the difference is measurable.
@Brummelchen It was meant for the "Windows 10 home/pro" user with no chance to get a permanent Ltsc build. It is always better not having any bloat in the first place than to "cut it down". (But you need to have acess to Ltsc in the first place for that) With the two mentioned O&O tools be carefull in: a) trusting them? or b)crashing your system? Since I used both and they seem to work ok i'm curious and had to ask
i need to setup my ltsc from scratch and yes, shutup is impacting networking with its recommended settinsg. unfortunately i cannot tell which of them but it happend (again). appremover is not applicable on ltsc as there is nothing possible to remove this way (or with windows way) removing apps with ntlite IMO needs (minimal) HOME license. it should also be possible with DISM https://msfn.org/board/topic/175193-custom-windows-10-image-how-to/ (this change somehow happened from 1.5 to newer)
