The command window doesn't close. No errors though, and I have 3 files.
What do have to ad to make it close? I suppose it might be good to see that it completed successfully.

I don't like that. Hibernation and pagefile aren't excluded. Try #1295

Unless we can sort this out I'd give DS the thumbs down.

What media did you use to restore with?

What's the importance of the exclusions?

It has completed and the command window closed. Three files created.

OK. Are they the same size each time?

    Maybe try with --ForceVSS

"All" imaging apps exclude these files to save several GB of image size. If they aren't being excluded something is wrong.

    Yes, same size.
I delete them each time before trying another batch.

I see there is a setting in the GUI for ForceVSS or always use VSS if available.

I tried ForceVSS through the GUI and set it as default, but still the same "can't exclude 0x8" problem.

    Can you run
    chkdsk C: /scan

Do you have the latest DS version?

Yes, I have the latest version Drive Snapshot 1.46.0.18214.
I did a quick Google search and found that this has occurred for DS a long time ago in this forum.

Can you briefly disable your Anti Virus to see if it makes a difference.

    It's already off.
I never (or rarely) have it on.

    No luck.

    Can't exclude PAGEFILE.sys [0x8]
    Can't exclude HYBERFIL.sys [0x8]
    Filesystem too busy.

It's a shame. I was really liking DS.

We'll keep thinking. Can you email the developer of DS?

Does this setting have any effect on any of my partitions?
System Reserved, Recovery or even Primary?

    I could email him.
I wonder if anyone else has experienced this issue.

That only applies to GUI backups. I have it set to 0.

So, you think that this message is a good indication of a bad backup?

-L0 is don't split the image files

I'm not certain of the significance of "Can't exclude". It shouldn't happen but the backup is probably OK to restore. The backup will be larger than it should be because it contains those two files.

Out of interest, can you do a PHYLock IFW backup of your C: drive? "Filesystem too busy" might prevent PHYLock from getting a lock.
