Hah! I'll have another go at it this weekend. I tried (fairly) hard, lol.

Well I've tried every combination of things I can think of, including exactly like you have it here, but it's not changing anything. I realize by this time you're probably more frustrated with me than I am of what I'm trying to fix, lol. The only thing I can say, and I'm not sure if it matters or not, but when I add "no-cosmetic-filtering: consent.yahoo.com true yahoo.com yimg.com * allow" into My Rules and click save it splits it up into where the "no-cosmetic-filtering: consent.yahoo.com true" part stays on the first line of My Rules, and the "yahoo.com yimg.com * allow" goes onto the very last line. Not sure if that makes a difference, but that's what it does.

Do I need CSS Exfil Protection if I am using UBO?

According to the test site you do, at least without the extension FF and Chrome failed the test on my machines.

i consider this a not important - its a constructed case of css usage.
i dont think that ublock could fix this, more umatrix.

Correct. uBO gives you some firewall-like protection in Medium Mode or higher. uMatrix is a more complete browser firewall but it requires more time and skill to configure for my taste. CSS exfil attacks are more like zero-day threats in that most users won't encounter them, at least not currently.

Is there any way to block meta refresh/redirect globally?

I'm currently using the following filter example on a per-site basis:
    Code:
    ! <meta http-equiv="refresh" content="0;url=http://opengapps.org/" />

    rootjunkysdl.com##^meta[http-equiv="refresh"]
    techradar.com##^meta[http-equiv="refresh"]

I hate coming across sites that do this, and while rare, there are no cases where I want a 0-second redirect without my input. I'm open to any solutions.

The Privacy Adguard tracking protection filter helps to block the nagging pop-ups and paywalls to sign up for a monthly or yearly subscription to the newspaper sites.

You can use any AdGuard filter list with uBO, too. Additionally there is also a "No popups" per-site switch.

Yes that's obvious, but I like to block stuff without having to break stuff. I couldn't select the whole ticker with the element picker, so I wonder if there is some kind of script I should block.

OK. If you prefer Easy Mode, then point to open area in ticker (not specific stories) and right click, select "Block element" and select "create" in the greyed-out ublock window. I had to play around with my mouse in that area to get it right. Ticker gone, with only blue background remaining. If you then click on the blue drop down window you will see it drops down and shows scroll arrows, but is otherwise completely non-functional. Playing around with uBO features is a good way to figure things out. I am no expert but it worked for me in this instance and I very rarely block elements this way. I learned something new. Hope this helps! :thumb:

Edit: This rule seems to work across the whole site.

LOL, a bit weird, but I could only select the whole ticker when my mouse was over "Top Stories". So problem solved, thanks.

I would like to identify the filters that block ads on Youtube Music and copy them so that I may disable Easylist. How do I do it?:)

EDIT: I see there's some specific filters available on filterlist so will try them.

Here's my filter list that is lightweight and efficient. Works on YouTube for me.:thumb: You might also experiment with the "Block element" feature in context menu to easily create rules. If you haven't tried some of the built-in features, check them out.

Forgive me for asking a newbie question that probably has been previously answered but a search didn't find it. Namely:

==>My UBO did not auto-update yet, even though I have the auto-update option selected. Is there a way to force an update NOW, or must I just wait for UBO to trigger it?

Automatic updating has worked for me (so far). I'm still on 1.18.16 (Fx 66.0.5; Linux). I'll just wait :)
