Is running BD and MWB together too much, or is it recommended to pair these two? I think they really look for different threats: BD looks for signatures in every file to report that whatever is in the file is a threat, whereas MWB looks for programs/apps that are rogue - plus rootkits, trojans, etc. (fyi - regarding active web protection, I have seen MWB flag a web page when BD does not).
Sounds like "overkill" to me. IMO, if you use BD, Malwarebytes is not needed. If you want to have an additional layer of protection, try SysHardener from NoVirusThanks (Link: https://www.novirusthanks.org/products/syshardener/).
Just use Malwarebytes Extension for Chrome/Firefox and get its superb web protection with minimal system impact (compared to version 3 premium).
