The ** over 5G is quite fascinating.

Proponents (read: tech lobbyist working for wireless company X) try to make believe that
having the last mile delivered by wireless (which is always substandard compared to fiber) somehow makes connections faster for everyone (they always "forgot" to mention that 5G needs fiber as backbone to have any chance at all to achieve 1Gpbs speed).

Newsflash: Not going to happen. Maybe in a advanced places like Tokyo or Singapore where fiber is the norm it might be possible to have islands of fast wireless access within city.

But in places like USA (Ranked 20th on global speed) ?
Or Australia ? (ranks currently 55th
    https://finance.nine.com.au/2018/01...ternet-speed-ranking-falls-two-places-to-55th)

5G whole country coverage when most rural folks out there barely have 10 Mbs ?
