Russian military is building a giant 'war cloud' to serve as a back-up internet so the country could survive exile in future conflicts - and it will be ready in just two years.

The cloud, which is set to be completed by 2020, will connect to the military's vast internal network and would allow wartime Russia to survive even if it was disconnected from the internet.

The 'war cloud' will connect to the military's vast internal network, report says

This means in wartime Russia could survive even if it was totally disconnected.

Smart - Reasonable and sensible too - Too many (way too many) land nations now have ways, means, and ambition to (play stupid games) screw up other countries smooth flow of uninterrupted signals to it's citizens and businesses. Excellent Proactive move to concentrate a tight network. Not one running amuck harming everyone else as easy as flipping on a light switch.
