O&O ShutUp10-free antispy tool for Win 10

It has been busted as long as I have used OOSU10. Just do as @reasonablePrivacy suggested; create a manual restore point prior to making any changes using OOSU10.

 

Hm... I regularly use O&O ShutUp 10 to create system restore points. No problems here.

Is anyone having issues with this new version? None of the settings that I apply stick and do not remain after a reboot. I am not getting any errors and all appears that it is working correctly except when running the program again after the reboot, none of the applied settings remain. All settings remain exactly as they were before. Previous versions have worked fine and I am only having issues with this new release.

 

I believe that you are right. Something is not right with this version.

 

Mine works fine.

 

I've downloaded the update, however, I show the same 1.6.1403 after update. I've downloaded the alleged 1.7 version from Neowin as well via the program itself, and get the same result.

I don't know about anyone else, but enabling the new privacy options in ver 1.7 result in a pronounced black screen at boot time on my Win 10 1909 build. Also the delay appears to get worse with each boot.

I disabled the ones dealing with MS tracking but kept the clipboard based ones. Now my boot time back to normal.

Hello,

I did not have time Tuesday but I sent O&O an email about the issue on Wednesday. The email was forwarded to their development team and I was told it would be looked into. Two days later it does indeed seem to be fixed as this latest version is now working without issues an my system. Even though it is a free product with no supposed support, O&O did respond quickly and issue a fix in a short amount of time.

 

Indeed great support from them. I contacted them through Twitter and they confirmed the issue and told me about the new version with a fix.

 

Unless MS is flat out lying, this new activity tracking only applies if you logon with your Microsoft account and specifically agree to activity history submission:
