Intel admits chip security has a long way to go January 3, 2019 https://www.computerweekly.com/news/252455208/Intel-admits-chip-security-has-a-long-way-to-go
I also think AMD is viable choice. Allmost all of discovered vulnerabilities were not present on AMD chips.
I don't think it matters. AMD is not immune. And frankly, if I were a badguy looking to exploit a CPU vulnerability, I would target a vulnerability that affected the most CPUs to increase my chances of getting a hit. And of course it is important to note the badguy is going to have sneak the malicious code past all your security defenses - regardless the CPU you have.
All of these chip exploits and how someone can see what you do no matter what your software is doing sounds all to familiar with the "doing away with privacy" crap that I can't help think this is intentionally part of that psyops program. Make the populations of the world believe there is nothing they can say, think or do that cannot be known to all. Yea man, you can bet this is part of that. It's a known fact that people behave better when they think they are being watched. case in point - easier to control people.
You are right, people will start to self-censor their sayings and doings which exactly what those in power want. And there is no doubt whatsoever that certain agency had their crummy little hand in the cookie jar...no matter how much Intel tries to deny it... Some AMD motherboards seem to offer shutting similar **** off (original text in german) https://translate.google.com/translate?sl=auto&tl=en&u=https://www.heise.de/newsticker/meldung/AMD-Secure-Processor-PSP-wohl-bei-einigen-Ryzen-Mainboards-abschaltbar-3913635.html
Gives a whole new meaning to They're even open about it assuming "Intel" is synonymous with "Espionage! That may be part of the plan; they can't be accused of doing it surreptitiously if they place a label on every computer warning you that there is an intelligence gathering spying device inside!
I'm not "in power" and I sure wish people would think before flapping their lips. That's so much of what is wrong today. Too many people are really brave, to the point of being brazen and without shame when hiding in their dark little rooms behind a keyboard and monitor where they don't have to take responsibility for their words.
