    It's nowhere near long enough in my opinion, considering that smartphones can be usable for much longer than two years.

    Catch-measure the pattern (of android releases so far-security releases too) and a handset user can better make their own conclusions as to the degree of marketing being forwarded. (hush-this androider lags on purpose with some) It's all good on this end. Safe.

    Blows my mind that Google can't even make sure their own barely functional phones get updates for more than 3 measly years.

    Well of course I know that's why. But why aren't they trying to compete with Apple, when they *know* their security track record is laughable? If Apple can do it, why can't Google do it?
