If your license is up for renewal between now and next Black Friday
There are Black Friday deals 30% OFF in the shop
(there is a glitch in the site though so at the moment it only shows up in the shop once you click through).

License lifetime countdown starts on activation so you can save them for when the old one is expired and activate when needed.

Do they expire if you don't apply them?

(my current license is valid until May 2019)

It's been doing nothing for more than 45 minutes (the counter has frozen at the 1minit 8 second). This is not the first to behave if you need to remove more. Previous versions were like this too. How long should I wait? I did not wait any longer, I stopped the task. So there is no log file.

What happens if you open HMP again, and you start a new scan?
Does the same happen? Or does it work OK?

It is OK! But that should not happen. It should have been good for the first time yet. In addition, if it find more, it is often the case.

    Ah, I'm happy about that.
    You're right, of course.
I hope that @RonnyT, @erikloman, or @markloman can have a look at the issue that you reported.

Nope, you can safely store them for later use.

    Thanks, RonnyT.
XIII's November 23 question wasn't answered in this thread, as it was answered in the HMPA thread.
But thanks very much anyway. :thumb:

    Hi,

Should I report a suspicious found file here or elsewhere on the forum?

Either way, did a scan with HitmanPro and it reports "Windows.Internal.Management.SecureAssessment.dll" as suspicious. Isn't that a critical system file. Maybe the location path is different therefore suspicous? What should I with this file: ignore, quarantaine or remove?

Here's the report on that file:

    Properties
    Name Windows.Internal.Management.SecureAssessment.dll
    Location C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download\171b4b4b47c0fa36dfade5c7e9c9f351\Package_for_RollupFix~~amd64~~17134.472.1.0\amd64_microsoft-windows-m..ent-platforminterop_31bf3856ad364e35_10.0.17134.471_none_fe289ebc5f869b73

My computer lagged on and off and the apps and folders lagged when I try to open them. This has happened ever since the last windows update. I ran a scan with hitman pro and four suspicious files came up.

    HitmanPro 3.8.0.295
    www.hitmanpro.com

    Computer name . . . . : ************
    Windows . . . . . . . : 10.0.0.17134.X64/4
    User name . . . . . . : ************
    UAC . . . . . . . . . : Enabled
    License . . . . . . . : Paid (149 days left)

These are critical files, Should I ignore them or quarantine them?

    Reporting here is OK.
I hope @RonnyT, @erikloman, or @markloman can have a look at both your and Enigma7's report.

I would ignore that HMP scan altogether, close HMP, and scan again later, to see if the presumptive false positives are corrected, by then.

    At both @sortino99 and @Enigma7,
Did you try another scan, today?
Do you still get the same results as you reported yesterday?
I scanned my main Windows 7 system some minutes ago (default/normal scan, no early warning scoring), and I didn't get any detections.
Perhaps the detections you reported are limited to Windows 10, or perhaps the HMP false positives were corrected, by now.

It came out different today. Only this one popped back up

    (C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download\171b4b4b47c0fa36dfade5c7e9c9f351\Package_for_RollupFix~~amd64~~17134.472.1.0\amd64_microsoft-windows-m..ent-platforminterop_31bf3856ad364e35_10.0.17134.471_none_fe289ebc5f869b73\Windows.Internal.Management.SecureAssessment.dll)

But when I click the ok button, the HMP froze up while it was cleaning the files.

Unfortunately, the virus removal feature is useless, working for hours on several files to remove. Then also , if the program you want to remove is not running. Please fix it. (Windows 10 64bit v.1803 build 17134.472) I stop the hitmanpro process with task manager and new scan is OK. This is not the solution ...

today after the monthly windows update Hitman Pro scan has the same result for the Windows Internal Runtime Secure Assessment DLL as suspicious, they haven't fixed this report. Win10 1803 for me

Surely, these must be false positives, right?

I have REVO Uninstaller primed for manual removal. I don't like the 'telemetry' factor one bit.

Nar, I couldn't rest knowing I had potential spyware installed, so I killed the process in Task Manger, ripped it out with REVO and allowed HMP to remove all found traces.

Since yesterday I get following warning report:
    Suspicious files ____________________________________________________________

    C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe

Is there anything I need to observe or do?

    Many thanks in advance.

Here is the VirusTotal report for that file hash. According to them it looks clean.
    *VT results removed per Policy.*
    False positive for HMP?

Same result for me at VirusTotal... This was the reason for my request above.
