I complained about the grey text when it was introduced a few months ago and was told 'nobody else has an issue with the new look'. Arrogant or what?

Arrogant indeed. Unfortunately it's a trend, both the pale fonts and the stupid arrogance.

I just highlighted contents as per that screenshot, that I posted above, i.e. copy and paste into notepad. It works for me. :)

Why is this thread in the anti-malware section and not anti-virus one, btw?

Agreed, although the name is Emsisoft Anti-Malware, it is actually Antivirus

Emsisoft has been in this area of the forum for at least 11 years in one form or another (e.g. Mamutu)

, Emsisoft had several Anti-Malware products:

    - EAM was originally an Anti-Malware that complemented Anti-viruses (when AVs at that time mostly focused on virus/worms type of malware, and Anti-Malware on spyware and trojans), then it became a full-fledge anti-virus (if we use the term "anti-virus" in its popular term, most AVs are now Anti-Malware and vice-versa ).

    - Mamutu was a standalone behavior blocker, now integrated in EAM.

    - Online Armor a firewall with HIPS, best one ever.

    - Emsisoft Emergency kit, portable on-demand scanner based from EAM.

So yes Emsisoft deserve its place in this section.

BTW, I forgot to mention that development has a plan to fix the scaling issues. So, we may be soon see a better management of high DPI.

This is why I see it as more than 'just an AV' ...

I know Emsisoft has changed their pricing.

Just renewed one machine (for the $15 price), but I am disappointed that it is now an auto-renew subscription service, with no opt-out checkbox, at full price, which one would have to monitor.

I really dislike those, and thought twice about purchasing; just increases the likelihood I will cancel before it expires.

I have been a loyal Emsisoft user, and especially enjoyed the corresponding loyalty pricing ... aybe that was not sustainable, but switching the model to this opposite extreme has put me off.

    Rant over.

Regarding auto-renewal...I asked the same question and got reply from Thomas (Emsisoft):

"You can cancel the automatic renewals right after you have placed an order with a click on the link which is mentioned in the email which you will receive from our e-commerce partner Cleverbridge.
You can use that link anytime. Alternatively, you can contact us and we can cancel any subscription for you as well."

Yes, I did see that. I just don't like auto-renew - it should at least be opt-in.

Also renewals are full price. So to take advantage of any deal, one would have to cancel one's existing license.

I just renewed my license and after I paid for it ,the auto renew asked me if I wanted to do it or not. I chose not to.

OK, I was not offered that, or did not see it.

I do have the order with the subscription cancellation link.
