I tried ten of these, and now doctors and scientists hate me ... I can never remember any of these. win+f / +d / +r are so useful, but so ephemeral. I'm happy that win+f / +g and +h don't actually do anything on my pc, though. EDIT: wrong. win+h just starts a program that lingers in the background for no reason.
I like using my mouse, but about the only one of those I use is Win key + L to lock my machines, just as I lock the doors of my home before I leave.
How dare that YTer use "Bright" in the name, then claim these are "secret". That was not very "bright as they've been published openly all over the place, including by Microsoft. See Keyboard shortcuts in Windows and Mac keyboard shortcuts. Nothing secret about them. I use some but mostly my mouse. I don't even lock my systems anymore because they go to sleep after 10 minutes of inactivity and require a password when I wake them. If I still worked in a secure office, I would lock them as it was a work policy. But those days are gone, fortunately.
I only use the "secret combination" Win key + E to open Windows Explorer. Damn, now you all know this seeeeecret combination.
I use this one mostly also. In past I've used custom key combinations to launch applications, but now I use Launchy for that.
Many keyboards let you record macros too. I have one to enter my email address with the press of just one key.
Oh yea, I got a question about this: Sometimes ctrl+c doesn't work and there's no indication, until I paste something I copied hours ago. Mouse works fine always everytime. Why is that?
Same for me... I use lots of those combinations daily, especially when I work on laptops. Another handy sequence to shut down a system is (first) win key + D (second) alt + F4 (third) enter You mean when you copy from html pages?
I'm talking shift + ins, ctrl + ins and a few other obscurities. Hint: ctrl + del and shift + del, whither comest. Mrk
I guess it is only when I copy on web pages, yes. Oh, interesting! Very obscure indeed. Do they work differently than crtl+c and +v?
They use javascript to disable the copy paste commands. Search the net for eg "javascript disable Ctrl+C". I find it more annoying when some sites and forums hijack the ctrl+F combination. I didn't know you could do that. I'll use that from now on. In the past I would open Notepad or even the Run dialogue box, paste the text and then copy it again to remove the formatting.
Nikopol, I don't know about all the implementations of ctrl + c/v, so I can't answer that, but they sure come handy if you work in a terminal window where ctrl + c will often break the execution of whatever's running. Mrk
Not obscure at all. They also have been around and widely published for a long long time. They too are listed in the link I provided above in post #4. And no, they work the same as Ctrl + c and +v.
