Hey! Thanks Lone Ranger for bringing this new feature to attention. I absolutely am giddy over Vivaldi. There was a time not so long ago I brushed it off expecting not very much to come of it. But it's really changed my enthusiasm where concerns browsers and it does have a pretty sharp pencil behind the scene who knows browser tech pretty darn well coming from Opera land.

Vivaldi has come a long way since it's introduction.

I just can't use this browser. Every time I open a bookmark Vivaldi takes forever. Opening multiple at once completely freezes it. Page links open normally. This has been happening for the past several versions.

That is one more issue let's hope gets ironed out and resolved soon.

Normally using only the Bookmarks Toolbar there are times which when opening one, things seem to seize up or delay. You can follow the progress bar and see just how long it runs across visually when it seems to hang up and for how long. These sort of happenings I have passed off as periods of time coming from bandwidth suppression (ISP throttling) or page stuffings or even some of the extensions putting a URL thru it's sifter.

But yes I notice some of sharpness/snappiness gets set back on one released version while a next new version it gets resolved again.
Since it's undergoing constant development it's something we want to keep watch on and report to Vivaldi's Bug Reportings.

From where do you open the bookmarks? I open them from the sidebar and there is no delay. But there are definitely some weird bugs. I noticed that the more tabs you open, the less snappy it gets. With that I mean it sometimes freezes for a second when loading some website, and CPU usage is also a bit high. And I sometimes get the feeling that certain extensions stop working out of the blue.

The bookmark issue happens every time any bookmark from the bookmark bar or from any where else.

I also am experiencing this exact same result the more tabs are opened in this current version. CPU usage when examining in Process Hacker also confirms a bit of higher spikes but not all across the Vivaldi active processes. And since with 8.1 x64 and the low RAM available, naturally the whole shebang grows less responsive. On my 8.1 platform i resolve this in temporary form by restarting the entire Vivaldi Process Tree in ResHack. I guess a good flush frees up enough memory to recover the snappiness again. It's not bad on this end, (yet) but it is quite noticeable and makes for a bit of distraction on occasion.

Weird, it doesn't happen on my system, no matter where bookmarks are launched from. BTW, I don't actually use the sidebar, I manage/access my bookmarks from the vivaldi://bookmarks page, perhaps you can try this.

Yes it's still way better than Firefox, which has started to completely malfunction combined with Sandboxie on my system, no matter if multi-process is disabled or not. One thing that does need to be improved are the address-bar results when you search for bookmarks, Firefox was a bit smarter.

Thanks for the info, so I'm not the only one. Currently I'm running Vivaldi without Sandboxie's protection to see if it runs a bit smoother. But I have no idea why Yahoo Finance has become so slow in Vivaldi, this doesn't happen in Chrome. I just hate these weird bugs.

BTW, does Vivaldi freeze for you guys (for about 10 to 15 seconds) when loading this site? I also get to see a huge CPU spike which causes the freeze. BTW, it's a Dutch TV guide and it freezes even when JavaScript is disabled. No such problem in Chrome.

No problem with Vivaldi Snapshot either, maybe it is an extension or installed security software.

Thanks for checking guys. I decided to do some troubleshooting, and you're not going to believe this. The good news is that it's not caused by Sandboxie or extensions. Turns out that it's because of the 8000+ bookmarks that I imported. When I delete that bookmarks folder the freezing problems are gone. So the bug lies in the bookmarking system.

This is actually a needed feature when you want to listen to music via YouTube. BTW, are there any trustworthy extensions to save videos on YouTube, I've read that Google banned them? On Firefox I used the excellent "Download YouTube Videos as MP4", but it has been removed.
